Pele is so highly rated because he won 3 WCs and scored a lot of goals but these Santos wins where he they score 10+ goals while he scored 5-8 goals is not relatable to modern football

It's time to exclude Pele from the holy trinity list

So it's only Diego Armando Maradona and CR7, candidates for the third spot are:

Lionel Messi
R9
Ronaldinho
Cristiano Ronaldo Jr

The holy trinity is untouchable for now. CR7 is battling it out with Cruyff and Di Stéfano for places 4 to 6 in my books.

This is exactly what people in 50 years from now will say about Cristiano and Messi. Football is evolving and if one player has achieved success in a previous era that doesn't mean he wouldn't in a more advanced one. What matters in football is 1) talent, 2) success.

If talking eff the stats pure talent, than even Mosquito Ousmane have a better buzz 😏
What pure talent

When Dembele's pace is gone he will have to retire or go to Saudi and will look like an amateur if he ever touches the ball post retirement

Meanwhile those with pure talent can give you magic that nobody else can even when they are physically finished to the core, that's what you call pure talent

Most of the technical geniuses also had crazy athleticism. In some ways athleticism is a prerequisite to show world class technique in game. The players such as Messi, Maradona, Neymar, R9 etc were incredible athletes and this allowed them to demonstrate their technique in game.

Whilst Dembele is not on their level technically, he still is one of the best wingers technically itw. His absolute both footedness is really really rare, in particular. I would wager that as long as he maintains some acceleration he will continue to be a great winger into his 30s.

There are players with world class technique like Jorginho who don't come to mind when you think about the most technical players in the world, because he lacks the athleticism to facilitate his moves with the ball.

What you don't understand is that Brazilian football was strong in the 50s and 60s. You're looking at it through a modern lens.

Do you pick R9 over Dinho? Different position of course but prime Dinho managed to transcend his club more than prime R9 (though Dinho had more stable team).

Both Joga Bonito players anyway.
I agree with your previous post - it would be foolish and stupid to claim that Cristiano Ronaldo hasn't been a brilliant player, but there's levels of brilliance. He can be excellent and still only be the 8th best player ever, or have a worse peak than R9.

As for this, it's hard to say. I am not sure who I would take out of the two of them. Likely R9 but R10 was even more entertaining.

I go in a little hard on R7. He's been a wonderful player but he's a bit of a cold fish in that he is more mechanical and lacks the genius of past players and Messi (not to say he doesn't have a lot of talent himself, but like I said, there's a difference between having a lot of talent and being Maradona or Messi).

What about Pedri? He isn't faster than Jorginho.

This morning, I had some guests over for brunch at my farmhouse.

Everything was pleasant. The sun out, a nice temperate weather. I showed them around the property and everything was in order (the grass courtesy of my gardener in chief Mr. Hernandez), except one.

As we toured near the shed, the lguests insisted. “That noise, what is it?”

I assured them. “Oh that?

That’s just Fati the Donkey”.

Now, I wait for the guests to leave with a golf iron in hand and sights set on the shed.

Woeful, brutally biased list.

How can you be so disrespectful? Thiago Messi is not better than Cristiano Ronaldo Jr.
Other than that I agree.
