Apparently Chelsea are going to use the Mata money to buy Barkley in the summer. Probably not a great move, he'll end up like De Bruyne most likely, unless he manages to take Willian's spot.

I don't think Barkley would even want to move to Chelsea this summer. Don't see this happening at all.

He'd probably be best at Everton.
Barkley won't be replacing Oscar any time soon.

Oscar is an elite footballer, soooo underrated.

Great goal, seems to have found his form again after the injury he had.

Both he and Ravel Morrison should go to the world cup as wild cards, both have potential to do that there...England's central midfield options are looking really good lately though. Ox performed excellent in the centre against Bayern, what we are maybe missing out on is that 'potential' world class defensive midfielder. Kinda hoped Josh McEachran/Jack Rodwell would be the ones for this roll but both seem to have faded.

Steven Gerrard's good for a quick fix in the summer though i guess, been doing great there for Liverpool this season.

Considering the fees English players go for in the Premiership, 50 million is about right for a player of Barkley's caliber...Difficult money for a club like Everton to turn down but if they have any ambition at all, which Martinez clearly does, there's no way they can sell Ross - even at that price...Best English player by a good distance, IMO

Watching that video again, he does actually say that it was speculation. So probably BS after all :blush:

Martinez was joking about the United bid. It was in response to the Liverpool bid which may well be true.
