Sandro Rosell

The explanation's plain for all to see, Pep had fallen out with the player and the guy had to move on, so we sold him. I don't think Rosell's the one that needs to be hiding in this situation.

Openness doesn't come about by attending press conferences anyway, Laporta loved the media spotlight yet distanced the club from the socis more than ever before, the work going on behind the scenes to improve access to the club for socis and penyes is what will improve the transparency at Barça.

Sure, but by now, he should already have given a press conference where he explains that we've been trying to sell Ibra to multiple clubs during the last few months (because Pep didn't want Ibra anymore); that Milan were the only club interested, and that that's the reason why the transfer-fee is so low. This kind of openness would reassure a lot of fans. Now the fans are just guessing what's really happened and inventing all kind of theories; and the fact that Rosell is hiding atm instead of giving explanations, isn't beneficial to his popularity at all.

In which way? I haven't read Rosell's election-program, so I'm not 100% sure what you mean with that...

Rosell did what he had to do with selling Chygo and Ibra. We lost big but what can you do when there are no buyers and you need to sell to maintain the peace in the house.
I don't think that Pep fell out with Ibra at all. He didn't like his attitude and his agent and you don't school 28 y.o. on how to act. That's all, Pep isn't a type that would argue.
Someone is to blame for the fiasco that's for sure and Pep is the one who is the most obvious one as he wanted Ibra and should do the due dilligence before the purchase. How noone in charge knew that he couldn't head the ball is beyond me. And we know they didn't as they spoke that now we have someone to cross the ball to.
Maybe it's Laporta as he sanctioned the 69 million transfer knowing that we shouldn't be spending that much.

Point is, can't judge Rosell this early in his tenure.

Yeah, atm it seems like Pep is the main culprit in all of this. From the information we have now, it seems like Ibra is "fired" because of his cocky attitude. If that's the reason indeed, then Pep should get a lot of blame in this; 'cause whole Europe already knew that Ibra was one of the cockiest strikers around, prior to his arrival at Barca. If Pep can't handle cocky strikers, then he never should have signed Ibra in the first place.

--------------------

Wednesday 13:00 Zubi and Bartomeu will hold a press conference, to talk about the transfers of the past 2 months. I guess we'll get a lot of answers about the Ibra-saga then. A pity that Rosell won't be there though.

A lot of us are used to seeing Laporta and his pal, Sala i Martin's ridiculous fashion choices a bit too much. You guys have to realise that Laporta loves limelight... he doesnt care if he has to get drunk at a bar or get naked in an airport... any publicity for him is good publicity. Never ever have we had such an extravagant president so it is a bit hard to judge Rosell on his no show policies.

As for the previous debate I agree with Corb. Catalan and English should be the way to go. When people want to associate themselves more with the club they'll go learn Catalan.
Let Espanyol have Castilian ont heir webpage.

You mean if you're visiting Barcelona? In general yes, there are some people who object to speaking Spanish but the majority won't give you any problems especially if you're a tourist. The Catalans tend to be a little taken aback by foreigners who can speak their language! LOL

Aye. 'Tis true.

Oh the faces you see, when you start conversing with people from all around Catalunya in Català.

Priceless! LOL

Agreed. I was initially sceptical about Rosell in this saga but after some time has elapsed, its becoming increasingly clear that this situation was unworkable and Ibra, unfortunately, had to be moved on.
