Not to mention the fact he left the club with the highest debt in it's history, In the same time spain was having it's worse recession since god knows when.
You can't look at a debt number in isolation. The club had the highest debt in its history but it also had the highest revenue in its history. The debt/revenue ratio was much improved compared to when Laporta came in, the job he did in transforming the club is one of the best examples of football presidency ever. In terms of success, playing style and finances he succeeded massively.

The way a look at it we're still going strong thanks to the legacy left behind by Laporta and Guardiola albeit he Laporta left us with a huge debt. I'd take Laporta over Rosell any day.

Rosell hasn't done anything yet. Wait until he gets his wish and bring Neymar for a crazy amount of money. Not sure how many will still support him by then.

Open letter to Mr Rosell. In view of tonight's result, what are your plans for the summer? I would like to know? Were not gonna piss our entire transfer fund on Neymar are we?

Sure we aren't ,we will sign the gr8 Reina and then keep rumor mil about signing Hummels (just like we did with Silva last year) but we end up with Abou Diaby ,I mean he is Arsenal player,mid-fielder ,we don't need him and also injury brone ,perfect fit for our defense ( JK )

I hope this humiliation makes Rosell take off his Neymar and Nike tinted glasses and forces him to buy world class CB's. If he doesnt our era will truly end

Weather people like it or not, Rosell is the right president, At the right time, His business mentality is what the club needs at the moment.

People are just saying that Laporta is partly responsible for the club becoming one of the greatest ever. That is a fact that cannot be denied. Yes the club might have had large debt, but Laporta's management also increased the club's revenue to heights it never knew under previous management. No one here has said that Laporta is a saint, but your defense of Rosell seems misplaced considering he has done plenty of shady stuff.

Wish it was that simple.
Signing Ronaldinho was the most defining moment of turning the club around and it happened almost by accident as Laporta failed on his presidential promise of signing Beckham.
I don't think that they wanted Beckam so badly though..
Sandro then snapped Ronaldinho who was about to sign for ManUtd.
And this is still the best thing that Rosell has made for Barca(and the reason for which he wants Neymar probably; he knows that people remember who bought Ronaldinho, but they don't remember Deco, Marquez, Eto'o)..but I can't forget that he was also the person that Nunez asked to stop Ronaldo from leaving us, that he helped Ronaldo to join Real Madrid and that he wanted to bring Luis Fabiano instead of Eto'o because he didn't want to upset his friend Florentino.

Laporta was a good president but was also involved in several shady dealings which were basically money laundering.

Rosell is no saint himself.

Yes, but for now only one of them doesn't go to a certain country anymore because of the fear of being arrested. And I admire your faith, but after what happend with the Boixos Nois this year, how they kept lying and denying their presence until the game against Real Madrid and after that Cardoner still blamed Laporta saying that he should have eliminated them from the list of socios if he was so brave(though that was legally impossible), I stopped believing in Rosell.

but I'd wait the end of his term before fully assessing his mandate.
Unfortunatelly you won't have to wait so much. After last night's game and after tomorrow night(when we will probably fail to make it to the F4 of the CL at handball and Euroleague at basketball-though at the last one at least we still have a chance because we play the 5th game in Barcelona) Rosell is going to see how it is to have the Camp Nou against him and this time I don't think that Godo and Sport will be able help him. I wrote this yesterday:"if we lose with 4-0 or 5-0 maybe Rosell will realize that the team has certain needs, that some harsh decisions will have to be made and understand that what Laporta did in 2008 wasn't as easy as it looked"..and though I think that Rosell will wash his hands like he usually does, I hope that I am wrong this time.

Generally the more a team wins=the more money it earns. No use Barca making profits of the pitch if we do fuck all on it. Just ask Arsenal fans. Their finances may be in order but their highest aspirations are to qualify for the CL!:whatever:

This is not a situation we want. Also Rosell has had a very easy time. Its time he was pushed out of his comfort zone and will see if he can make the right decisions. Laporta had guts at least.

Freixa's statement looks even worse now, after that beating. People are scapegoating Tito, but to me Zubi and Rosell are the main culprits.
