It wasn't a Laporta team. It was a Txiki/Rijkaard/Pep team. Laporta enabled it by taking the correct risks that paid off. In terms of spending it as 55M+bonuses for Alexis and Cesc. 4M have already been paid for Alexis. So the total spending could end up closer to 110M for the two seasons. 110M might not be 'huge', but for the club with the highest wage bill in Spain it's not that bad really.
We signed Alexis for 26M + 11M bonuses ,Cesc for 29M + 5M bonuses ,the minimum of the 2 deals is 55M,with possible 16M added as bonuses
So 55+33=88 ,you say we paid 4M for Alexis ,that is 92 not 110
That amount isn't good at all for a team like Barcelona ,but it can be acceptable with a good Director who knows how to spend it ,that is why the combination of Rosell and Zubizarreta is just not working in our favor
