I think the lack of service might've just been an instruction to avoid crossing plays, contrary to how we played (unsuccessfully) in our last 2 meetings with Malaga where we had several blind crosses. Since Roberto was at RB, the closest he could get to attacking penetration against Malaga's bus would be overlapping for a wide play which is why he wasn't a priority for much of the game. Alba too was looking for cutbacks much more often than actual crosses.
