I think he will be our "new" Xavi, not Thiago. I can see his future here at Barcelona. It's always the less hyped players that become the best players.

I believe Thiago is capable of covering for Xavi or Iniesta or at least he will be given more time. He has proven he can take on the Iniesta role against decent opposition and the Xavi role against weaker teams so far and he will only get better.

Sergi Roberto could probably cover either position as well but I agree I'd rather see him sit back in the Xavi role and let Thiago have more freedom to go forward and be creative.

He should be loaned out next season, he's been poor and hasn't developed much for Barca B (can perhaps be attributed to Eusebio)

Rafinhna and Roberto should both be loaned out, I've watched several of their games and they can't just seem to create anything from midfield.

yes, loan him out for one season in La Liga, and see what he is doing. i really like his style of playing!!!

in 5 years our midfield could be Sergi Samper - Sergi Roberto - Thiago :barca scarf:

Looked good against Zaragoza in limited minutes...Still think there's something worthwhile with the player but again a loan is probably a smart idea as he isn't likely to see too much time...I've seen him live on several occasions and the thing I really like about him is how profesisonal he is, even in training/warmups...There's a maturity to his game that belongs at the club once his skills have matured as well...He's a model La Masia product

Agreed. Would definitely like to see go out on loan next season.

If Barca decides to let Roberto and Rafa stay(which is not a good idea), then we need a new coach for B team. I only watched a few B games and sometimes I think they play like Liverpool and Deulofeu is their Suarez. My Goodness. This is not a very good place for young midfielders. :shakeshead:

Rumours of a £7 million bid from tottenham, thoughts?

Is it me or this is actually the pound sign? that is over 10M euros ,I would say gr8 deal ,as I stated in the transfer thread ,we have better midfield players in the youth system and the team can't afford to develop all of them ,It is wise to sell him now and not ruin his career on bench ,also our history with loans indicates that all what it does is killing the players value in the market
That said and for his own sake ,I don't like Tottenham as a good fit for him

It's just over 8 million Euros. Pound getting raped right now in the economy.
