Why would he leave? He is about to play in his favourite position. Very very unlikely that he leaves - he stayed during times with less playing-time possibilities than now, and he became a legend last season. I'd say this is to sell papers.

From Roberto's position, he will play a decent amount of minutes ONLY if we will able to field 13 players in every match.
4-5-3 with Busi and 4 central midfielders.

Iniesta will play.
Rakitic will probably play.
Paulinho will play a lot since we bought him as a savior.
Gomes will play, since we didn't want to sell him.
Then you have Rafinha and Roberto, around 5th-6th pick.
Not to mention Arda, Samper, Alena.
Or Denis as a midfielder if we'll buy Dembele and Coutinho for a Lw position and Deulofeu as a sub for a Lw and a Rw.

We have so many midfielders, that probably 4-5 guys will start riots during a season.
Bad planning. Such a bad planning.

Again, imagine if we'll also go for Seri in the end.
Which would be good for our team, but bad for other 11 midfielders.

Guys, don't be scared. The source of this news is BeIN SPORT, and the source of BeIN is Don Balon. That says it all.

Iniesta will play, yes, but not all games.
Rakitic/Paulinho/Gomes is not guarenteed any minutes at all. For all we know they could be thought of as subs. That is just as big a possibility as Roberto as sub.
What if we start playing with Robert-Busi as double pivot with Coutinho/Messi/Iniesta in front of them and Suarez on top? Then he has full playing time. No-one knows anything about this yet, and therefore it is extremely unlikely that he would give up now, just when he broke through in his adored childhood-club.

Just give this kid a proper chance in the midfield! I want to se him play instead of Rakitic on wednesday fo 90 minutes! He needs to get a few games in a row as CM! He is our homegrown kid, a CM player who played last year as a RB and he gave his hart and soul in every game. Just give him a chance in his proper position already!

We're not playing Iniesta on the wings and we're going for Dembele. Signing Paulinho is a big slap in the face for Roberto.

If want to see what Roberto can do in midfield he needs to be given a fair chance.

if he plays v Real he will be that same defensive right mid Raki is as the team had no shape down that side.

Will spend half his game chasing Marcelo up and down the pitch more than being a CM.

Really they should just put him RW and tell him to mark Marcelo and put Messi with two more defensive mids to cover in middle.

Don't like that set up from Barca but at least it is a shape.

Putting Sergi Roberto as RW is like Mourinho or Ancelotti putting a CB in midfield as far as i'm concerned. It sends out a message of fear.

Don't care what message it sends out if it improves chances of winning and frees up likes of Messi.

What is the alternative message? That Barca have no shape or plan and let Marcelo run riot again?

Last time he played RW in Madrid Barca won 4-0 and no one complained.

For now just want to see a structure, a plan and more energy as a starting point. Improve from there and try to get new players in to help.

Well he did play RW for that 4-0 match that we won against Madrid in 15/16 and looked very good at that. That's a very small sample size though.
