Sergiño Dest

Chill, he had a decent game. Didn't make any big errors. Almost score a goal himself, had a couple of very good crosses. The overreactions..., you'd say he scored an own goal and got sent off in the first half.

You're setting yourselves up for disappointment if you expect him to raid the flank like Alves...

We need Dest and Dembele to start on the right together frequently.

You're welcome
I think his only clear mistake is is that he hasnt balanced his offensive and defensive game yet. A few times he is caught up front and is too late to defend.

Think he's been great for us since we signed him. Being new here, young and playing in a team is crisis is challenging and there will be mistakes.

Agree with @Barcaman.

It’s true that Dest has slowed down these past few weeks, but that is normal. You can’t expect a kid to have the consistency of a champion in his prime. Still he shows more consistency than both Roberto and Semedo have ever shown. It’s also good to remember that this current season is the most demanding ever physically speaking, as teams have been playing every 3 days basically since September, and Dest has started all those games cause he’s our only RB available.

Even with his current level he’s better than both those guys, simply by the fact that he’s not afraid to take on initiatives in attack and he has the skillset to remain a threat at any moment. Defensively, he’s not as solid as he was initially, to me he looks tired. But in his worst form, his defensive game is equal to prime Roberto’s. So there’s no argument here.

People need to remind that Roberto is a player who’ll have 2 good games (just good not even very good) then he’ll have 10 straight disasterclasses. Yet some here jump on the first occasion to criticize Dest.

I just hope Koeman won’t make Roberto his starter when he comes back. It’s a good thing that he’s coming back as Dest will finally get some rest, but he should be Sergino’s backup, not the other way around.

He is playing to many games in a row. When Roberto returns it will benefit Dest.

Yeah, he'll be fine.

He has already shown his talent early on so people's expectations are probably already too high for a 20 yo kid in his first season here. Even more proven players have often struggled to adapt in first months at the club but he has fit us like a glove from the start.

Some inconsistency is expected though. After Roberto's injury he has played a lot (and he also runs a lot every game) and also had a minor injury that bothered him a few weeks ago. Koeman is doing well managing his minutes by taking him off in recent games to try and keep him as fresh as he can and possibly prevent injuries by playing almost every 3 days until Roberto is back and Dest can get a bit more rest.

He needs rest. Same as Pedri.

Didn't know I would say this but can't wait to get back Bob. He is sorely needed for rotation purposes, in all positions that he can play, but especially as a rb.

Dembele as well. Shouldn't start/play more than 60 minutes in three consecutive games in less than a week, especially considering his injury problems.

Don't forget who he plays beside either. Rookie Araujo and dead man walking Busi. Think he'll be great. Attitude and quality are there.
