He was good, made some great tackles, better defending than all our actual defenders, he can't make up for our garbage defense though.

Agree, but many will be stubborn and say "ALL OUT ATTACK IS THE BARÇA WAY!!!!!"
Stupid, simple tactical mistakes like that have costs us the game, just like they did vs chelsea when we were 2-0 up.

The double attacking fullback thing is making things way harder for Busi...
In past seasons he would normally cover behind Dani and Abidal would take care of the left wing, but now he has to cover the whole width of the field... See how many times a single long pass switching wings has worked against our defense...

would love to see busquets, song and iniesta starting in midfield against milan,while villa, tello/pedro and messi up front so it would be smart to rest them against deportivio and start some youngsters if required. Deportivo are relativity easy and its a home game, so no hostility from the crowd either. to beat Milan, their counter attacks must be reduced. last thing barca need is another goal against Milan in the second leg. Im positive roura is gonna start Alba and alves so they need defensive covering in midfield, during the sevilla game, when song and busquets were playing together, i felt a sense of safety in midfield and the presence of song in defense helped as well, it also really reduces the workload and pressure busi has to put up with in midfield.

This x10 the double attacking fullbacks is a huge cause of Barca's woes.
Busquets has been suspect of overconfidence and laziness along with couple of other players this season. He doesn't get back quick enough to help the defenders and often you see them left alone in big spaces. And yet, somehow, he doesn't get fraction of the flak the back four has been receiving.
Gets praised constantly by few of his fanboys for the most mundane things. Even when he complicates and dwells on the ball in difficult positions and then barely scraps it or turns back only to find himself in front of same markers. But often gets dispossessed or fumbles the pass as well.
I would like Tito to try experimenting playing Mascherano alongside him. Would probably benefit both of the players, not to mention our fullbacks. By all means, don't shake the boat too much as long as we're in CL. But if we go out, there'll be plenty of opportunities in La Liga, so why not.

I'll have to agree with you on the point of trying Mascherano next to him. Having them both on the pitch means that Masch can do his beast DM thing with the tackles and dispossess the opposition and of course covering for both fullbacks when they drive ahead and attack. Then Busquets will have good covering and try help the play makers with his killer passes more often. IF we're going with 3-4-3 or even 3-3-1-3 as MD is suggesting against Milan, we will need the 2 of them as midfielders to do it well.

The added bonus would be more physical players in the pitch with Song there, useful in defending set pieces and attacking them as well, which Barcelona may have a lot of in the return leg.

Things are clear, if we play with two attacking full backs Alba + Alves one of the creative mids needs to be sacrificed for Masche or Song!
For 270 minutes against Milan and Real we played with Alves + Alba with only Busi in the mid to cover for their holes causing Puyol + Pique + Masche to have to cover for LB and RB when the holes were created. Absolutely atrocious for us to not even realize this is a big problem for 3 full games.
