Stupid but true example.

I was playing futsal and at one point i was constantly being overruned by younger friends/oposition. I could dribble past them but wasnt fast enough to escape them.

I stopped having fun and decided to lose some weight(lost 4kg) and twice a week at night went for 30 minutes run workout, mainly short bursts of sprints. After 2 months came back and had fun once again. Legs were lighter, i could no problem hold duels and was fast enough to take advantage of situations.

My point is. You can be one with the ball and tech gifted, but if your body doesnt follow then its useless.

When you look on this high, professional level, if you are faster for 0.2 sec on 100m, it makes a difference. If you are stronger for a bit, you can shake off your opponent more easily and have more energy to deploy more accurate and powerful pass/shot.

Take all this in consideration, and you can easily say that our first 11 with proper training regime could become at least 10 to 15% faster, stronger, more agile.

But, it is what it is

With proper manager, clear vision and players follow you and are determined to work on themselves. Look Goretzka and lewandowski. They are bodybuilders. Fuck sake, even thiago looks bulkier/fitter then any of our middlefielders/forwards.

For example.

Ramos looks like a fortress, boateng was working on himself you can tell, tiago silva looks ok for his age.

Then look at pique. Lmao.

Busquets look like a dead meat on two sticks.

I wonder how would suarez perform if he has a body of lewandowski.

Our training regime is useless, we already have the team full of ballers, but they need that extra work to be slightly faster, stronger in duels and maybe they can compete again.

Look at milner. Even Modric has some muscles
Every top team right now has that combination of tech gifted players who acknowledged that they need to work on themselves if they want to be competitive with younger ones.

Look at davies. Then look at semedo. Im not saying we need a team of bodybuilders, but barca is the only 'big' team that first 11 looks completely out of shape and not athletic enough.

Clearly you need both technical and physical qualities.
Suarez scored a quality goal, because he does have some genious left, but i was shocked how much of a turtle he has become, he couldnt catch a through ball to save his life, Bayern defenders caught up to him som easily.

Exactly. There were couple of through balls that if for example, braithwaite was in his place we would have a different game score today. I couldnt believe how easily with couple of meters of advantage bayern defenders closed him down, and how much mentaly bayern defenders were superior after that because they acknowledged that suarez really is a no danger in open space.

[Guardiola]On 11 April 2001, Barcelona's captain announced his intention to leave the club after 17 years of service. He stated that it was a personal decision and, in part, a response to what he perceived as football heading in a new, more physical, direction.

Much the same way, the game has surpassed Busquets. He is no longer starting material. He needs to be backup as a minimum going forward or leave on his own accord. He can still earn well elsewhere.

Barca players back then were a lot more honorable and respected what the club stood for. These overpaid divas were pampered for nearly a decade. Much like raising a spoiled child could lead to them being bad adults, same goes for these players.

He should be a backup for FDJ at this point.

I agree. Starting maybe games vs LaLiga minions who don't put pressure on us or counter well. Maybe Copa games too.

I know it sounds sad but it's either that or he leaves. I doubt we can move his contract though.

Time to improve.

Should never wear a Barca shirt again.

Neither should any of the other amigos:

Pique
Alba
Roberto
Rakitic
Suarez
Messi

With the exception of Messi IF he's willing to give up half his salary and his position as a guaranteed starter, let alone the center of the team.
