Oh please. I've seen teams in EPL and Serie A (to name but a few leagues) play much tougher and aggressive than Benfica did today. Tell me if this was so horrible from Benfica, why didn't they see ANY red cards??? Was it the ref???

Truth is, they did nothing to deserve red (apart from perhaps Alves incident). Yes they could have ended with 10 players as we did, but that's nothing worse than what we displayed out there as well.
lol wow dude what game were you watching. Martins, jardel, and the guy who elbowed danny all deserved red cards

So, I guess Busi is out of our next CL game.

Wouldn't mind seeing Song covering for him as DM, while either Bartrá or Piqué partnering Masch so as to add some balance to the backline.

Bartra fanboys? I've never heard of such thing, only those who feel he should be given a proper shot instead of rotting on the bench. No one us gushing about Bartra at all.

Pretty much agree spot on with this. He deserves a shot, and if he doesn't, then why is he still here?

Much better performance yesterday, he's been pushing his lucky with risky passes recently but played more within himself which then made him play superbly. When I watch Barcelona I actually only watch Sergio and the rest is in my peripheral vision. His passes between the lines were majestic, and his tiki taka/backheel with Messi was cheeky as well lol:busquets::busquets:

Busi was easily the man of the match vs benfica and personally i feel as though he could be xavi's replacement. If you watch his timing and movement its quite similar to xavi's.

This!

I've been thinking about the exact same thing over the past couple of seasons. The more I see Busi play, the more he reminds of Xavi to quite a great extent. He seems to have a knack for finding space in places where you'd think there is none. He has the ability to dictate the tempo quite well, and his passing is exquisite. His overall vision is superb.

There's a reason why I've never taken much from the "is Xavi's successor Thiago or Fabregas?" debate, as it is becoming, in my opinion, highly irrelevant. Busquets actually reminds me a lot of Guardiola himself, more than Xavi. And we all know how that went with Xavi being the heir of Pep. I honestly believe Busquets is the one who will revolutionize his position after Xavi (god forbid this comes any time soon) will hang up his boots.

The problem is, though, that Busquets plays his current role with such ease, grace and precision that there are simply no better candidates out there to play the DM position for Barça as well as he does. This creates a bit of a problem all the way until, presumably a younger La Masia graduate will fill his shoes (could very well be Samper) allowing him to play a more attacking role.

We'll just have to wait and see.

haha i have used to see Busquets only defending you never see him going forward only for corners which actually its not his job to go forward but also you never see him good if he is in a good position so it will be strange to see him attacking

i don't think he will be a xavi successor. although xavi played the same position when he was younger, he was way more productive already then, scoreing and assisting and played a great part in attack. while sergio loses a bit his coolness when he goes forward. i always thoguht he is very similar to pep guardiola, but better technique. i think barca would rather lose a WC pivot rather than get a WC interior in busquets' case.
