This!
I've been thinking about the exact same thing over the past couple of seasons. The more I see Busi play, the more he reminds of Xavi to quite a great extent. He seems to have a knack for finding space in places where you'd think there is none. He has the ability to dictate the tempo quite well, and his passing is exquisite. His overall vision is superb.
There's a reason why I've never taken much from the "is Xavi's successor Thiago or Fabregas?" debate, as it is becoming, in my opinion, highly irrelevant. Busquets actually reminds me a lot of Guardiola himself, more than Xavi. And we all know how that went with Xavi being the heir of Pep. I honestly believe Busquets is the one who will revolutionize his position after Xavi (god forbid this comes any time soon) will hang up his boots.
The problem is, though, that Busquets plays his current role with such ease, grace and precision that there are simply no better candidates out there to play the DM position for Barça as well as he does. This creates a bit of a problem all the way until, presumably a younger La Masia graduate will fill his shoes (could very well be Samper) allowing him to play a more attacking role.
We'll just have to wait and see.
