tbf Mustafi was considered one of the best CBs in Spain and Italy before his Arsenal move. Which seems to be a pattern with defenders they sign and theres probably a bigger issue behind it. If he can somehow get his confidence back, he'd at least make an alright sub and he would probably come for free anyway if it was a summer signing.

If we are being honest with ourselves. we're currently lacking a ginger (Messi beard only counts as 1/2 a ginger, huge twitter shitstorm if we were to go with that as our ginger quota.).

In a world of all-inclusion we are probably lacking one ginger player and one woman who identifies as a man like Elliott Page. These moves could truly boost our marketebility.

So I am all for signing Mustafi- or promoting Peque.

I think the only way we get him is on loan until the end of the season which I wouldn't mind (maybe a loan swap between him and Coutinho). Can't be worse than Umtiti tbh and he'd be ok as a 4th CB behind Araujo, Lenglet and Mingueza. And especially useful if we'd continue to play with 3 at the back in some games so we'll need more depth.

There are better options to sign on free next summer though so I wouldn't get him unless he would really convince in his 6 months here.
