After winning 3 tournaments in a row, it must be difficult to change the key players that won you those titles. But I think Del Bosque should have changed things after Euro 12 and brought through younger players and got rid of dead wood.

Guys like Torres and Albiol should not be in the squad and Costa has not played with the other players often enough to be a starter.

They can still win it though, but I think he should trust the younger players. Pity Barta is not there, I would have him over Pique and hopefully Lucho will too.

This loss was soley one VdB. Who the hell tries to play an attacking midfield lineup with just a lone striker? Alonso was useless as always never getting into the rythm and disrupting the harmony of the midfield. Silva and Iniesta were too far apart to work the magic. Costa was utter shit as predicted when he has to play with the ball on his feet and he brings on effin Torres, why even take Villa to the WC? Pedro should have started because without the defensive duties of the midfield the full backs were left between a rock and a hard place in trying to provide width to the attack and covering at the same time the speedy Dutch wingers. And last but not the least Iker was terrible no two ways about it. He thought he was Neuer always so far from his line and in no man's land for 2 or 3 goals IIRC. His lack of match fitness clearly showed and based on merit DDG should have started instead of him.

Alonso is a disaster and Costa's presence in the starting lineup is a horrible mistake.

I believe one of the problems yesterday was not enough workrate and speed. Pedro could help with that.

Alonso wasn't any worse than Busquets to be honnest, both of them didn't help the defence at all.
I think they should go with something like this for the next game:

Pedro on the right. Silva on the left.
Villa up front.
Come on Espana! Get to the Knockout stage and I will be pleased. I probably over-rated Spain and any success in the knockout stage seems will be a bonus
