Spanish FA, FC Barcelona sanctioned for international transfers of minors

Correct me if i'm wrong but i believe a club can sign 3 underaged players from other countries.

Those regulations are meant to act against the separation of young players from their families. If you take a 12 year old in La Masia, than you must take care of his parents too, since it is not normal for a kid to grow up without his mom and dad and his brothers/sisters. That makes perfect sense to me. If the board screwed up, we are at risk here. And rightfully so.

I do not know about Christiano's case, but transfers within the EU are OK, because it is very easy to get from one place to another within the EU. It's less of a separation. Imagine the parents living somewere in Australia and their kid playing in La Masia. It's a clear disintegration of the family. The parent-son relationship is damaged.

The question here is if the parents agreed to this. They must have, their signature must be on these contracts. If a parent is OK to let his son or daughter play football 5000 miles away, why does UEFA intervene?

Not according to the FIFA statement. According to them, no foreign transfer under 18 is permitted unless it falls under 3 exceptions and is afterwards approved by their committee. The exceptions are, transfers within the European Union; players playing for a club that operates within 50 miles of country border, and player lives also within 50 miles of the country border; and if the player and their family relocates to the club's country for other reasons other than football reasons.

All this raises a lot of questions about this process.

Joke of a board... one screw up after the other. They ruined everything this club stands for...

There HAS to be new elections. If they have any shame, they should all resign, like rosell did.

This one is horse shit. What's wrong with parents making sacrifices for the well-being of their children?

That last exception is riducilous, like the parent would come for other reasons then football at that moment.

It is FIFA, their stupidity and corruption is well documented and widely known.

The last exception I posted is where IMHO all the problem is coming from.

That is the exception that can be most easily exploited and the one I'm sure Barcelona has exploited and has caused this problem.

That is basically how Barcelona got Messi to their ranks.

Ok, I'm not entirely clear on what this means.

1. What are the 10 signed players that infringed on the rules? How come nobody noticed this?

2. Does the ban cover transfers in and out of the club? Will we be able to sell?

3. What about the players that have signed pre-agreements? i.e. Halilovic, Ter Stegen and Valdes?

4. If Ter Stegen cannot come, can Valdes stay? Can we renew contracts?
1. I believe it is relating to the Non-EU youngsters eg. SWL, Kubo etc. Truth is the club DID know about it, they were just flouting the rules as usual.
2. Players WILL be allowed to leave, otherwise that would be a restraint of trade.
3. Haliovic should be okay as he is over 16 and from the European Union.
4. Any player already registered with our club can stay. But Valdes may already have a pre-contact agreement in place, in which case I don't know what will happen.

Don't we have to win the appeal before we could sign anyone?
We can appeal, and up until that appeal is heard and a final ruling is made we will be able to sign players. Much like a player can appeal a Red Card and if a fixture is scheduled before that appeal is heard, he can play in that match.

It doesn't mean we have to roll around on the ground smearing ourselves with faeces.
LOL! Rosell, Bartomeu and his cronies should all be frogmarched down to Las Ramblas and publicly flogged. :spank:

Call me a conspiracy theorist but its strange that off late we have been under the pump from everyone. It seems that people just want to ruin the club. Off course it doesn't help that our Board has basically fallen on its sword with the Neymar case but still.......

Come on folks are you guys telling me all is pure and lilly white in the world of Bayern, City, Chelsea, PSG, Real etc....

Off course its not. Why doesn't FIFA probe all the players stolen from us or all the other dodgy stuff? How about an investigation into Bale's deal or the Etihad sponsorship with City?
True! Maybe it's because they are smart about it and pay the relevant people off.

Fifa only allows international youth transfers when one of three situations apply: the player's parents have moved country for their own, non-related reasons; the move takes place within the European Union if a player is aged between 16 and 18; or the player's home is less than 50 kilometres from the national border being crossed.
It appears that the Seung Woo Lee transfer ultimately unleashed the Shit-Storm.

This is just funny, for any kid to be given the chance entering la masia is like winning the lottery. You are being payed to play football and on top of that the club prvide you with free education that is way higher quality than you would find anywhere other than in extremely expensive boarding schools. They have like one teacher on every 10 students and extra studying classes for the "dumb" kids, on top of that the club require all students to pass thier exams or they are expelled.

La masia is anything but exploiting kids, it is an extremely high quality boarding school where kids are payed to study and practice football. FC Barcelona spend 15-16 million euros every year on la masia, that is on around 100 kids so around 150 thousand euros per kid gets you some serious education.
La Masia is a world famous football academy and in a sense it IS A SPECIAL CASE. But nevertheless, we still have to abide by the rules and regulations.

Fucking FIFA!! Maybe they should be investigating the hundreds of deaths of immigrant workers because of the World Cup in Qatar.
Right-on Brother! :friends: And don't forget about all the stadium workers killed in Brazil. How much "concern" for their welfare do FIFA have? How much blood does FIFA have on their hands?

P.s. I wonder if JAYUK is going to appeal HIS ban.

It is. Clubs offer the parents a job to evade it, so did Barça with some youngsters. It's ridiculous but the FIFA don't seem to change the rules anytime soon.

You mean, we brought families from Africa/South Korea to Barcelona, so that their sons can go to La Masia?

Yeah Barcelona exploiting kids by giving them better lives for them and their families. What a bunch of crooks!

But mark it, that last exception is where all the trouble is coming from. The team had to get creative with the reasons the families of these players were moving over to Barcelona. Maybe along the way, Barcelona got sloppy and messed up paperwork and left themselves open for this.
