Spanish FA, FC Barcelona sanctioned for international transfers of minors

Yeah, but what should Sandro have said instead? "No problem, we are totally OK with your law, and we'll immediately ship back our top-talents like Lee etc. to their home-country now?"

It's not only Sandro/Bartomeu who have been defending La Masia's youth-policy. As you know, Laporta has been very vocal on Twitter about this too in recent days, defending the concept of La Masia.
The club has believed the rules do not apply to them back through Laporta, and probably much longer than that. This angers all other teams. Barca hubris plus envy from less successful teams (all).

Probably club-sponsored banner like everything else.

I do find it interesting that it seems like a large amount of non-socis can see all that is wrong with how the current board operates, yet it's still projected that the majority who can vote are going to vote yes. I wonder why that is. I guess the internet isn't always a true sample, meaning the people who complain or have concerns are usually more vocal than those who are satisfied. Though it's beyond me how anyone can be satisfied unless Rosell is lining their pockets.

Alot of socis are probably suit people that cant think in other ways then in numbers

Well, someone brought up a good point in another thread, that the majority of socis are pretty conservative rather than progressive. And since membership is restricted, it's harder for new blood to come in & try to make a difference.

How can these old conservatives not see that our club is being dragged through the mud? We already have a great bulk of our players near the end of their peak while the next bunch will be there in a few seasons. Yet this board hasn't reinforced the team at all. No matter how conservative you are how can that equal good? 120+ million spent for 1 player isn't very conservative either.

(not a post towards you XaviMessiGirl, just keeping the dialogue about "new blood"/socis going)

Thats cause they are more inclined towards Barca as a symbol of Catalan identity. They select the board on basis of political affiliation rather than performance. This is sometime seen on the pitch too with players being selected on no discernible reasons other than their background (Cesc.....). When you have such a backward and narrow minded membership its little surprise that the board turns out to be as incompetent as this one. By restricting membership this will go on for a long time. Only hope is more broad minded people(especially youth) are given membership

I see, thanks.
One of the things I love about FC Barcelona's history is that the club is a symbol of social integration/equality. Rebellion against oppression, but choosing who runs the club and who can become members solely on politics is as stupid as those oppressing this club in the first place. Sport and Good Sportsmanship can sometimes bridge the gap between politics and religion but it is a fine line. For the most part those issues should not be brought into the game. I can't remember how many followers FC Barcelona have but I bet 65-70% of those fans chose this club because of the teams style of play, all the trophies they've won and the players over any other reason.

Copied from another Barca community:

I still think the YES vote will win.

Barça season ticket holders are a bunch of elder citizens that have been voting against their best interests for decades. They kept JL Nuñez as president for twenty years, even after Cruyff left. (Ñuñez is currently convicted by Spanish justice).

I'm certain most of them don't even know that the new project will send about 8,000 season ticket holders from Tier 1, all the way up to Tier 3, to make way for new premium hospitality boxes.

That alone would be reason enough to reject the project. But the elderly club member doesn't know nor care to know. They only bother to show up for the Clasico, the BCN Derby and the UCL semifinals, as clearly shown by yesterday's attendance. Also, they only information they get is through the board mouthpieces, Sport and Mundo Deportivo.

As hard as this FIFA sanction is, I fear it's not enough / it is too late to change these people's minds. But I hope with all my heart to be proven wrong on Saturday.

The result of the Camp Nou referendum will be announced soon. According to several media, club members have voted in favour of a renewal.

I don't really care about remodelling, if anything, I actually agree the stadium could use a upgrade.

Changing the name of the stadium is absolutely out of order.
