Valencia is bankrupted due to several reasons but they do make a lot of money from TV.. i mean by English standards 50 Mil a season is awesome , no ?

The thing is all those transfers on fringe players , hiring managers & firing them paying their salaries
plus the new stadium fiasco .. there is plenty of reasons but mainly when it comes to Valencia it's more about money mismanagement than lack of revenues

Is that including CL and UEFA money? how can a top club work on that?
Nope, just the money we get from TV rights. CL is another what? 20 million?

Recently we've actually been managing the debts quite well, obviously terrible passed mistakes have put us in a big hole. One issue is that beautiful, half built stadium that's sitting empty at the moment because we don't have the funds to finishing building and paying player expenses, etc at the same time. If it wasn't for this situation we'd still have Villa and Silva.

i agree with gio. valencia is pretty smart in accepting that they cant compete with real and barca this season or next few seasons so instead of spending big to delude themselves, they have decided to make sure they are in front of rest of the part both fiscally and footy performance.

Yep
Tino Costa if he can play the same way he did with MontP they won't miss Silva at all ..Feghouli (Free ) is a great talent for the future
and you have my boy Soldado (10 mil ) to cover Villa and they are talking with United for a loan deal for Javier Hernandez

Costa (Free ) is a solid defender forget the fact that Queer-oz played him as a RB over Villa but he is a good CB with experience ( it will also be fun if he &Capdevilla met in the streets of Valencia  )

i dont think they would need to sign any more forwards because chori dominguez is there as well.

as long as football clubs in spain ride out these next 4-5 years without making unnecessary purchases to cover ground with real or barca, i think the spanish football would recover from its crisis. remember gaspart spent big and during those years, we saw 3 different winners of la liga.

I know it's goal.com, but they have quotes.
Deleted. If you know then don´t post it.
They can have whatever they want but still won´t have them on the forum. If other boards and blogs did what we do, shitty sites like that would go under and make internet a better place.

Oh come on... it was a report, not an article.

Real Mallorca excluded from Europa League after financial woes - Uefa: 'The club has not fulfilled its obligations'

The financially troubled Spanish club Real Mallorca have been excluded from this season's European competition by the governing body Uefa.

Mallorca finished fifth in La Liga last season and qualified for the Europa League but Uefa said that its Control and Disciplinary Body had decided the club had not fulfilled the admission criteria.

"...the licence of the club was not granted in accordance with the Uefa Club Licensing Regulations, 2008 edition, and the club has not fulfilled its obligations as defined in these regulations," Uefa said in a statement on its website.

Mallorca said in May that they had applied to go into voluntary administration in an effort to sort out their finances. Like many Spanish clubs, they have been slipping ever further into the red due to spiralling wage and transfer costs and a recent University of Barcelona study indicated they had debts of around €85m (£71.7m).

The world No1 tennis player and Mallorca native Rafa Nadal became a shareholder in the club this month and his uncle, the former professional footballer Miguel Angel Nadal, is assistant to the new coach Michael Laudrup.

Mallorca, who have three days to decide whether to appeal, said they were surprised by the decision. "Real Mallorca profoundly regrets the disappointment this decision by Uefa, which is hard to understand and without precedent, will cause among our fans," a club statement said.

I wouldn´t know as I would have to compare stories but I won´t do that for the simple reason I won´t be reading goal.garbage reports. Sometimes it forces itself on you like those Villa and Mata "exclusive" reports but what can you do.
Too bad about Mallorca. "They did not fulfil their obligations". Where do they mention it´s for the financial reasons or whatever?

Well it's because they are in administration which is against the rules. They had a certain date to come out of administration by and they haven't done so.

I'm not sure if they will get another spanish team instead or just give whatever team Mallorca are drawn against an automatic win.

Villarreal will replace them.

I looked up the rule in question (Article 2 Section 7) and this is what it says:

"it must have obtained a licence issued by the competent national body in accordance with the UEFA Club Licensing Regulations (2008 edition) and be included in the list of licensing decisions to be submitted by this body to the UEFA administration by the given deadline;"

I read through the handbook and the only thing I can come up with is either
1) Mallorca didn't file something in time
b) they're being penalized for going into voluntary administration

B makes more sense to me
If this is the case, it's so fucked up. They're being penalised for being RESPONSIBLE and trying to sort out their financial problems? Does the UEFA prefer the small clubs to pile on debts until the club is bankrupt?

UGH.

what a more fantastic league it would be when we have 1 or 2 more teams seriously challenging for the tittle. I really wonder how long or what is it gonna take for the likes of Valencia, ATM or Seville to become serious tittle contenders.
