No way, they're destroying football.

Au contraire mon frere, we are saving football.

Just think of all those clubvs that would be broke if it wasn't for us. We buy a player of team X, that team buys players off team Y who then buys players off team Z. Right now we are pretty much the only club putting money into football.

What else should they do to get money and grow strong enough to compete for the title?

focus on youth

fifa should make rule, every team must have at least 60 percent their roster from there youth although that may just make the wankery happen at a younger age meh imagine how bad real madrid would be if they could only have 2 or 3 bought players

I really think Spanish clubs should take immediate action to raise cash. They can do that from rich owners or probably by selling shares of the club to the fans. EPL is becoming saturated with billionaires. It makes more sense that potential buyers come to La Liga as there are already many teams in the EPL that are serious contenders for the title.

In spain there will only ever be Real or Barca. There isn't room for another club due to their duopoly. It's like investing money into Dundee, utterly pointless as Celtic and Rangers have the Scottish market on lock down.

Also, aren't there a load of strikes in Spain at the moment? Their economy is worse (iirc) than ours due to them having the euro.

yeah, I like your idea of focusing on the youth. Still the club has to be rich enough to give good players good money and promise them titles. Otherwise in spite of having a productive youth system richer clubs would lure the players away. But focusing on developing young players definitely goes a long way to move a club more towards the better end of the league table.

its has alot to do with the economy in spain in general

What do you mean?

I don't know if any of you has been following the critical situation occurring at the moment in Spanish football i expect most people are so involved in the WC they didn't notice the current situation which affects Real Madrid , Barca,Seville and other big clubs .

As u might know the football rights of the above teams was sold to Mediapro for a lavish 150 Mil's a season (give or take few millions ) per club (seville and co earn much less of course ) ..

the previous rights belonged to AVS who just won a court case against Mediapro and the court ordered Mediapro to pay AVS 109 Million Euro and hand back the TV rights for the above mentioned clubs .
the situation and the court ruling triggered Mediapro to file for bankruptcy which in turn means most clubs won't be able to pay the players salaries in July needless to say buy any player .

the situation is very serious as AVS previously paid almost half what Mediapro was offering and with the death and liquidation of the rival , AVS could either pay what they think is right (around 1/2 what Barca & Real earned from mediapro ) or we go into another episode of games without TV broadcast.

needless to say this could be a long summer without transfers activities

Any updates on this?

I heard La Liga will change the kick off times this season so that the Asian countries could watch the games earlier and not well past midnight?

Visca el filòsof!
I've just been reading about it in Marca, allegedly money was given to the Cordoba goalkeeper when his side played Hercules but a judge in Alicante has dropped the investigation after finding no evidence of match fixing.

Even if teams in La Liga don't have equal TV rights, it should not thwart off big investors from investing in La Liga teams. Because once a big investor owns a club and makes attractive signings they will manage to get equal TV rights anyways.
