which english clubs would (nearly) fill a 60000 seater stadium week in week out playin against teams like hamilton and st mirren. celtic and rangers fans pay extorsionate prices to watch dreadful football in dreadful weather all the time but we still go cos we are real fans and i doubt many or any english clubs fans would do that.

heres the average attendances of european football clubs for the 2008/09 season,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Average_attendances_of_European_football_clubs

you'll notice that celtic are 9th highest and the first on the list from countries outside spain, england, germany and italy. rangers are 15th but if they had aa big as stadium as celtics they would nearly fill that as well. would english clubs? no.

imagine this scenario, pick any team from the premier league and put them in the SPL and charge them 30 pound a ticket for a game against hamilton accies. who would have the largest attendances? celtic and rangers without a doubt

ive put that in their to highlight how much of a rip off it really is, but we still support our club

"we are celtic supporters, faithful through and through"

Jesus H Christ.

Can't you read?

If you take out Celtic v Rangers, the rest of the leagues average attendances are more like league 1 attendances (maybe even league 2).

And there's about a third as many clubs to support ffs.

I have to say though that many of the stadiums in England are quite small. I'm sure if every city had a 50,000+ stadium like Germany they would have very high attendence figures, and Celtic and rangers would fall way down that list. So your not comparing fan bases, but the ability of those fans to attend matches.

If English clubs were being charged 30 pounds and guaranteed a 50/50 chance of becoming champions then yes they would get similar attendances.

oh rly?

exactly m8, wht english teams fans would pay 30+ pounds to watch dire football against the likes of hamilton and killie week in, week out. they would just lose interest but you will find more passionate real football fans in scotland

You're the one making a tit out of yourself.

You really are quite pathetic hamzah.

You can't stick up for yourself so you have to try and get other people involved to back you up and feel sorry for you. You need grow a pair ffs.

btw I don't hate scotland, I have step brothers and sisters in Glasgow (who all support Celtic btw) who I get on very well with. They don't have these delusions that some of you lot have.
I have also never said Celtic have less fans than City (atm ofc) or that city are bigger. Celtic and Rangers are two well supported teams, (no where near as many as the sky 4) who are in a joke of a league which is similar to league 1 (maybe 2). Their fans have also been gullable enough to believe the scottish media when they are told they are somehow globally followed and that people actually give a shit about the SPL.

ur right m8 people dont giv a shit about the spl, but celtic and rangers are massive clubs with a huge amount of fans and ARE as big a the big 4 in england its just a sham ewe are being held back by the rest of scotland

Sorry to burst your bubble but you are not as big as the big 4.

You do get held back by the rest of scotland because their is no competetion as most fans throughout scotland choose between Celtic and Rangers instead of choosing their local team.

This just increases the duopoly that Celtic and Rangers have in the SPL.

thats what i was trying to tell you blueduck celtic/rangers are bigger than most of the EPL. you obviously think that too but didn't say so clearly enough. but i was also arguing that some of the 'fans' who support the top 4 aren't actually fans and would change to real madrid quite quickly.

so you could argue that if celtic, have a bigger fanbase of REAL fans. even city probably have more real fans that that of arsenal.

Are you sure hamzah? they are a bigger team (at least till right now) than man city. And they also have a long history. Even since 1930s arsenal already consider as a big team, not just in epl era. Sure, they have up and down periods, but it's a common thing. Like a wheel, sometimes you're at the top and also sometimes you have to go down.
