Theo Hernandez

He's talented, I like him... but.... midfieeeeeld people. That's where we need to move big time. Even if he is a LCB, don't we have Umtiti there? Isn't he sort of the same profile? But he seems a good player and he's only 19 I saw.

Roberto already said he wants a RB and midfielder.
A lot will depend on the next coach tbh,I highly doubt we will go for more than one midfielder. And if we played our cards right I doubt we will need more than one.Busquets as DM and S.Roberto as his sub,as for CM/AM we have Iniesta as super sub, then probably one or two from Gomes/Rafinha/Denis/Rakitic staying. And if only only one staying that means we will probably use Messi as permanent AM in more advanced role. Then new signings and Alena as the player who is playing between B and 1st team. Samper might get a chance too as an extra depth

Theo rumor is weird, And probably mean something is happening that we don't know. We don't have history of signing players in position that is already settled, in fact it is the opposite. probably mean someone wants out and we decided to cash on him and bring Theo.

Midfield isn't as important if we don't remove Gomes, Arda, and Denis, as it seems we won't be. Bringing back Samper and promoting Alena would only leave us needing one class midfielder who can step into our XI either way.

There will be probably a lot of clean up,and doubt Alena will promoted, very few get promoted at his age and the rumors early in the season that board felt Lucho was pushing him early with all 1st team calling and they were unhappy with it,probably next year will be between both 1st and B team.
Samper might come back, but I doubt it will be more than extra depth or just out of courtesy to his loyalty and PR move as his La Masia kid since he was 6
Again Roberto already said there will be signing in midfield, but probably won't be an overhaul. either a talented AM in case Messi stay as RW or a new CM if he became an AM and that's it

I know that Gomes and Denis will probably stay but Arda really needs to go. I consider him and Mathieu gone already :)

Must be BS rumor. We have Alba and Digne has been very solid.
I don't know, even Miguel Rico said a couple of weeks ago we were heavily interested in Theo. something must have happened behind the scenes we don't yet know about for us to be pushing hard for him.

I actually find it pretty hilarious that the LB's we have been linked with recently seem to be better than the RB options we have been linked with.

Maybe pep called Alba during the period we played 3-4-3.
I wouldn't be surprised

Well MD and Sport both say we have no plans on selling Alba, which makes me believe Digne maybe the one leaving. or we decided that we are hoarding LB's for future profit. :mou:

I would hate for us to dump Digne this quick though.

Khaled, did he really say we will get a midfielder?

see post 147 at his thread

Interview was with Sique Rodriguez where Robert insinuated a RB and Midfielder are definitely going to be signed.

Robert was asked about Bellerin and said he was an interesting player, but later said he don't want to or like to pay big sums for players that left La Masia, which I assume was aimed at Bellerin.

Digne might leave which makes sense. Went from being in the French Euro Squad to not being called up anymore. He's behind Mendy and Kurzawa now and need to play every single week to convince Deschamps of making it to Russia.

You might think 'But why would he leave Barca to play the World Cup'. The World Cup comes every 4th year and is a highlight for many players, and Digne isn't likely to become a starter at Barca either. So in the end it's between staying at a dream club with great players, but mostly being a rotation option, or playing regularly for another decent team and strengthen your chance of representing your nation at the World Cup.

Theo Hernandez is the best LB talent in the World along with Mendy IMO. Although you could argue Mendy is not a talent anymore and an established player.

3rd option could be that Theo is signed as a LB/CB to replace Mathieu, but then we have the situation with too many cooks...

It's the baptism of fire.

The best player(s) stays at the club long-term. The only winners here are Barcelona.

I would however like to add that it's not the end of the World if we don't sign him even though I like him. There are other LBs like Guerreiro out there who is versatile as well, if we ever want to explore the LB market again

I do like this guy. If he can cover LB/CB I would gladly take him if that meant Digne leaving. Alba relies on pace primarily and his pace won't last forever.

Top one says, there's a cold war between Atletico and Real in regards to Theo.

Second tweet says, Atletico would rather sell Theo to us for a cheaper price than sell him to Real.

If Atletico blocks Theo Hernandez transfer, Real Madrid would understand that there is no "gentleman's agreement" and would go after Griezmann
