Neither Danilo nor Gomes was signed to piss the other club,it just happened that both clubs wanted same player. Same happened with Neymar and R10 decade b4 him and those were amazing deals.
Difference is, that we did not need to buy Gomes, it was a 'luxury'-transfer as our midfield was stacked. Same with Danilo, we clearly needed him (as potential starter), whereas RM bought him as backup. Everyone needs a Neymar or Ronaldinho, those are different cases.
The similarity here is that we don't strictly speaking need another LB. And although WC-ones are always welcome, we have such huge problems in midfield + sorting out our rightback that it seems a bit stupid to go for a 24M€ LB, if not to take him away from Real.
We have been following Theo for awhile now and we even considered buying him last year but we backed off since he was still a bit raw at the time. I think my biggest question is why are we so focused on him now? whats going to happen with Alba and Digne? I know MD and Sport reported that we don't have any plans on selling Alba and mention nothing about selling Digne either.
Considering we have other priorities in reinforcing the Squad in the RB and Midfield and possibly CB area, I do find it strange we have been linked with other LBs like Theo more so than RB's lately.
Yes, exactly. Sport mentioned Benjamin Henrichs and Azpilicuata the other day, as alternatives to Bellerin for RB. Azpilicuata is a bit unserious suggestion, imo, but we really need to get that signing right. Also, Vidal has only recently come to mercy, whereas not long ago he was seen as a joke - it is quite uncertain to bet on him as a serious challenger on that position as well.
