Thiago Silva

I haven't read much in this thread, but I think there's fresh talk about him because Milan are reported to not have enough dosh for Ibra, therefore a new deal for Thiago Silva is on the table.

I'm not sure I'd trust a transfer rumor that originates in Sport, Jordan. That's where that one seems to have come from.

Far as I know the Ibra money has been paid.

don't think the club should spend big money on a guy that will be 28 next year, no matter how good he his, if we want a Brazilian we should sign dede

absolutely.

really, though, I'd like to persevere with Badger at CB and promote the canteranos.

we should definitely look into a proper backup for Busi. maybe buy Oriol back? lol.

Yeah i am now 100% of the masch-Pique partnership as the long term replacement for Puyol, with Muniesa and bartra feeling the 3rf and 4th play in the next two seasons. i am though wondering if he really enjoys playing in that position.

it's more likely Bartra or Muniesa will be 4th & 5th, as Bilal will always be available as a backup.

hell, let's hope Grimaldo has a growth spurt and is the first choice LB next season (or at least rotating with Adriano) and Bilal can move inside permanently!

I don't think he's quite good enough.

he's superbly composed and good on the ball, but I'm not quite sure he has the athleticism necessary to make it. I think he could excel for a more defensive team like, say, Sporting. or Levante.

perhaps if he were playing alongside Puyol in his prime...

you are forgetting Muniesa who is awesome as LB, I would play him there if he avoid all injuries or rotate him with Adriano. I would give Grimaldo 3 more years to fully develop his attacking potential. I would love to have our Maldini in here.

I think we should bring Alba back on a free transfer after the season and sell Maxwell

Muniesa needs to play a season with few injuries first

if muniesa goes through this season without getting a serious injury i am sure pep will promote him and he will play most games at LB, from what i have seen with the b team he has been back to his awesome self in his favourite position with bartra at CB.

Gomes on the other hand seems to be having a bit of growing pains, and let us not forget planas, being the starting LB for the U-20's and then U-21 team is not something that should be looked over

Jordi Alba is a neat player. But bringing in such a young player (he's only 22) isn't such a bright idea, with Grimaldo/Muniesa in the wings.

Well, Abidal is 32 or something... If we get rid of Maxwell (I won't mind that much), that should leave plenty of room for Grimaldo in a couple of years time. If he can't dethrone Alba... then there's no reason to keep the spot reserved for him
