Thiago Silva

Well I read today that Milan can't really afford to pay for Ibra and want to offer Thiago in a trade deal? Really? Some distant truth to this rumor?

No chance I'd say. Would love to see Silva come to Barca but that rumour doesn't make any sense at all.

It's very possible!

It's happened in the past with Real Madrid and Newcastle United.

Real Madrid could not afford to pay the installments on the 16 million pounds for Jonathan Woodgate, so they gave Newcastle Michael Owen at a reduced price even though on paper the deal was valued at 17 million pounds to buy Owen for Newcastle

You think Milan for poor 16 millions will throw their best player and then spend another 20 million just to buy over-priced replacement like every footballer is nowadays? This would be total retard business imo.

TS is definitely better than Puyol as an individual (although he wouldn't replace other things that Puyol brings to the Barca team). Him and Pique is pretty close although TS has been in better form for the last 12 months or so imo.

Well yes, both Pique and Puyol are atm irreplaceable for Barca, though imo TS is better than both.

Ooooh I dunno. I think TS is a better defender than Pique & (possibly Puyol) but Pique has more "elements" to his game than TS - being more or less an attacking defender. Therefore he is more valuable to Barcelona than a pure defender like Silva.

PS: Totti is a legend :worthy:

I doubt Silva could oust Mascherano and whomever (Pique or Puyol) from the first team. My opinion.

I agree it would be difficult to choose 2 from Pique, Masch and Silva but I think you're underestimating him a bit. He was amazing last year (Milan's best player) and I think his attributes are very well suited to Barcelona's style of play.

Definitely in the top 5 CBs in the world, if not top 3.

It would be difficult because Pique/Mascherano compliment each other nicely. And Mascherano has that Puyol-esque grit/whatever that we need to balance out the sexiness of Pique.

Fourteen

Monster Masch
Him or Sakho would certainly add versatility to our defence and moving to 3 at the back would be a more permanent option;

Silva/Sakho
Puyol
Pique
Monster Masch
Abidal
Fontas
and Busquets as back up would be more than enough.

No doubt but there is also the issue of Silva's age & (more importantly) price.

Love it :thumbsup2:

don't think the club should spend big money on a guy that will be 28 next year, no matter how good he his, if we want a Brazilian we should sign dede
