Today, Leonardo announced he will leave PSG at the end of transfert period.
Since we lost Ancelotti and Leonardo, the two men who were the representatives of our project, i can see Silva asking for a depature.
We'll see what'll happen.
Anyways, PSG will never change hahaha. How unstable this club can be, even after being crowned !

I guess money cannot buy love (for a club). ;)

Leonardo was banned for a whooping 13 months by the corrupt (?) French FA. Mourinho would have been banned for life if he had poked his finger in the eye of a rival coach as a PSG manager.

I can't see the point in your statement.
Do you know the actual situation of Leonardo ?
He was suspended for 14 months due to an agression agaisnt a referee.
I dunno if the owners pushed him out (cuz they want a good image and Leo is hatred in France) or if he decided to just move (since he repeteadly criticise french football and instances).
However, Leo do like PSG. He is clever, and i don't doubt he'll find a new club soon. I bet on Inter Milan since Moratti will sell to Thorir.

As for Thiago Silva, he never said he loves PSG but he is not unhappy at all. The fact, he would want to play for Barça is very common, i wrote it already previously.
The major change in his situation is the Leo departure. Since the latter was the one who hire him to PSG (with Ancelotti), and those two mens are not there anymore, the porject we sold to Silva is not the same. So i can see him ask for leave.
But this has nothing to do with money....
And as you are speaking about money, even if he is sold, it will cost a huge fee.

HS: Do you know that all the big clubs, the one which are succesfuls have big money ? Money bring the best, the best bring success, success bring passion from abroad. So in a way, money by love: see Chelsea, this club is considered among the big clubs (not as the same level as Barça, Real, Mu, Bayern, the italinas, but still) nowadays despite being sugar daddy club.
And for the supporters, money or not, we always loved and we will love forever our club.
We are just amazed that as usual our club follow his tradition of chaos. ^^

Looks like we might offer 50m plus a 5 year 8-9m euro contract for this dude. Thats almost 100m and he will be released on a free transfer in 2-3 years. Lets hope we dodge this bullet, but Tito seems adamant.

I think a costly player is a player who costs a lot and is on the bench or doesn't deliver what you expect. If Thiago Silva plays at his level, he is by no way a bullet since it means that your team has more chance to succeed. For me Affelay is a an expensive player, Villa would have been one if he stayed, cuz the salary doesn't match the performance. I would even say that Piqué is an expensive one, since he is far from his peak form and is still viewed as high profile.

I think it goes without saying that paying 100m for a player for 2 good seasons if we are lucky is not a good transfer. We have to look at what those 100m could alternatively have been used on. There are plenty of far younger, less injury prone, and quality CBs that would improve our team. We need a CB that we can build our defense around for years to come and who is able to adapt to our style. A proper defense is built over many years as understanding between the defenders is crucial and this takes time. Teaching an old dog new tricks is hard and he will be replaced in a couple of seasons if we buy him, mark my words.

I totally understand you point of view.
Nevetheless, if your coach is so adamant after TS, it is maybe he wants a top player right now, a leader.
I'm like you, i prefer a promising youngster than an old well known player but the youngster may fail too.
To be honest, personally i would like Marquinhos to join PSG. I don't want Luiz because he is not reliable and very expensive.
I just want to beleive that club staff (both Barça and PSG) are competent, so if they value one player over another, even at these costs, there may be a reason.

Then again, if youngsters like Caceres (who was touted as the new Puyol at the time) and Henrique etc. couldn't succeed in our system, and youngsters who have been playing the system their whole life (Bartra) barely get a chance, which guarantee do we have that Marquinhos will be an immediate success? We can't afford to wait 2 or 3 years for the new CB to gel in; now that so many of our players are at the peak of their career, this is the moment to win trophies.

This is why he took the 14 months ban.

I would really dislike it if we bought Marquinhos as well. we need some experience but that doesnt mean they have to be 30.

I think we need someone who we can build our defense around for years to come, as it takes time to develop understanding. Players like Capoue from Toulouse or Ranocchia from Inter would be better for us. A player around 22-25 years old is much more likely to be able to learn new tricks than older dogs around 30, and thus more likely to be able to adapt to our unique style. And it is the best solution to build a long term defensive partnership as well.

Capoue is not a CB. He is a DM who can play CB if needed.
He is for sale, ha wanted to come to PSG and was also linked to Monaco.
To be honest, he would be a very bad choice. I reckon he has some qualities but not for Barça at the moment and certainly not as CB.

I'm the last guy to defend Sport (or any paper for that matter) but of course he's going to deny it if it were true. It's against the rules. You need an agreement with the club first before you can hold talks with the player.

Did anyone believe in in first place? :D

And this.
