LOL.

Its the same MD, Sport and AS who have said that Neymar was gonna be announced as a Barca player several days ago and published much other crap #FakeSources #Hoax

If we can't get a world class cb, of whom TS is by far the best, I believe we should get a potentially world class cb, like Inigo Martinez or Marquinhos, although our need is urgent. Meanwhile let's hope that Piqué and Mascherano drop the too frequent blunders and play more regularly together, and that Puyol will be less injury prone.

So now that we've signed Neymar for about 20 mil less than expected, we really ought to put a real effort into signing Silva. With 25 mil left of the regular budget, plus a few sales, I don't think we'll have trouble gathering enough for him and a keeper.

Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, Ter Stegen if we can get those 3 along with Neymar I would be very happy, but is it possible?

If the 25-28 mill for Neymar rumour is true and with David Villa and some other players on their way out it's definitely not impossible, IMO.

He's great, he has everything needed to complement Piqué perfectly but there are a lot of problems with this transfer:

a) he will be 45 mil+ and will carry a large wage bill
b) very injury prone, the last trait we need with Puyol and Masch both having reoccurring injuries
c) this will be a very messy purchase. Silva will have to push through the move bc PSG have no incentive to sell and will not want to lose their captain on the cheap.

The only deal that could feasibly work is 25-30 mil + Dani Alves. They get money plus the best attacking RB in the world, a very fair deal.

For the money, I'd rather have Marqinhos and Martinez or Hummels and Martinez. Our biggest problems this year stemmed from a lack of rotation that caused fatigue and injuries to our key players. With two new CBs, we can rotate a lot more and have reliable options, not just desperation moves like Adriano at CB or Bartra.

This is why we should have been A LOT more proactive in getting him last season. Signing him from Milan would have been a lot easier than this. Yes we would have had to pay up, but if we had done that instead of wasting money on Song, we probably would have retained our dominance at Wembley today...frustrating

I believe there will be more problems even with a Thiago silva signing that will keep us from playing at Wembley.

Last season PSG was trying to identify themselves on the football map so it would have been very hard to get silva under PSG noses.whatever we would have bidded PSG would have increased that bid that's for sure. And he was desperately needed by ancelotti that time because their CB problem.

Actually rumer was that,we have bidded 35 million and PSG offered 40-42 so milan sold to highest bidder because they needed money desperatly and player is okay with familiar coach.

This year it's easy because if ancelotti wanted to go, every star player wanted to go if no known coach was there to lead.
Additionally we are already paying PSG's investment in him so money is not problem.

Only situation is can we make PSG to sell him because they dont need money & get Silva in interested in coming at here.

And anyone know about some french tax system?I mean I heard its pretty high for high earners though I am not quite sure but someone can clarify that.

I don't think there would be a problem in getting Silva to want to come here, he's already said positive things about Barca & yes there's that high tax issue in France. The only real obstacle would be getting PSG to sell, which I'm not sure they would.

And anyway, not sure how realistic it would be though in the end... 50m transfer budget - 28 for Neymar = 22m left. Even after selling Valdes (who we probably won't get a whole lot for since it's his last year in contract anyway) we wouldn't be able to afford him. If we were selling Alexis we would but it looks like he's staying. We probably aren't selling Cesc either. So maybe one of Villa or Pedro will go, but we have to buy a new gk so we will probably go for a less expensive CB (maybe two) with what we have left.
