That's what I'm saying. Why pay 30mil for CB's that don't exactly fit what we need (beast with speed) when we could have exactly what we need for 10mil more. And I'm not saying I want to pay 40mil for Silva either.

Marquinhos is looking better and better to me. The kid has intense pace and is a scrapper, really good at reading the game for his age. I'd definitely go for him, last I heard Roma didn't improve his contract either...could get him cheap. Lock this kid up...if we can end up convincing T Silva great, if not, I'd give that 19 year old a shot any day.

Rumors that he privately said he is very interested in going to Barça. That would mean his wages' issues could be addressed. If that is true his transfer is possible.

exactly,and besides that hes our only chance of getting World class CB,cant see others available besides someone like Kompany who is not easy too

At least, we have to try..Give them Pedro or Alves or both. We have to get Silva..we simply have to.

I don't think it's as impossible as some people make it out to be. Silva has stated several times that he's a big fan of Barca and that he would not turn down an offer. He'd probably even be willing to take a decent paycut. We should offer Alves + cash.

Yeah, Alves/pedro/alexis + cash seems good to me.

He is injury prone, but we'll still have Puyi and Pique hopefully (and marquinhos or inigo martinez). And Song and Masch :tito:

This. One of Pedro or Alexis plus cash wouldn't be bad either.
