I don't have respect for the club itself but for Leonardo, Ancelotti and the others who are involved in the build-up of the team, the sheikh on the other hand just gives them money. I also hate those kinds of clubs but you have to admit that unlike City they actually thought about who to sign and how the players complement each other.

Even Atletico have the chance to win the CL next season but what you get at Barça is not a chance to win the CL but almost an assurance to win it in the next years.

Even if he's 29, if 40 million Euros puts you in prime position for the CL title that you've barely missed out on getting into the last two years, I think you do it. Clear example is Bayern with Javi Martinez, the guy probably already paid for himself this year, although he is younger so it was a great investment overall.

Don't really trust Tito, but if this club fixed it's leaky defense, even he couldn't fuck it up I suppose.

what are the chances he won't be injured before CL semi finals next year ?? Unless you start resting him a month in advance for every important match. Else he is really injury prone.

Respect is one thing, but smart choices, good management--> good team are another entirely
If the club starts winning big money, you can bash the club --not the team.

Also keep in mind that for a long time french clubs suffered (and still do) from fiscal disadvantages compared to Spain or England, so you can also argue the contrary for the whole league as an entity

Yup, I've been saying for a while Alves needs to go considering Alba has outplayed him this season and is younger (La Masia is a bonus), especially if it can be included in some sort of Thiago Silva deal.

The fee would be around 40m, right? I can see us being able to match that with some sales. The question is whether PSG want to sell him. Which is unlikely, but I'd still give it a shot. He did say he's a Barca fan, and with the new tax laws in France, who knows, he might push for it if we show interest.

Why? If we don't have money, than we should pretty much stop thinking about him coming to Barca, nobody said Barca should transfer without owning enough money for that transfer, if we can't afford, go for something cheaper, in the limit of our budget.
