If Courtois rebels they will bench him till his contract runs out. Courtois will never be that desperate to join Barca

Courtois will have two years left on his contract at the end of the season. If he is prepared to run down his contract then there is nothing Chelsea can do and they would have to decide how much of a loss they want to take on him.

Cech is still only 31 so he has at least a few good years in him, he could potential carry on for 6 or 7 years. I don't see any real chance of him being ousted next season at which point Courtois would only have 1 year on his contract. So really it comes down to whether Chelsea can convince him to renew his contract, but if Courtois is smart he won't accept any renewal and will wait as that will strengthen his negotiating position.

They're not as big as Barcelona, but they are now definately one of the true powerhouses of European football, regardless of how they got there. That Champions League win all but confirmed them as a European giant. Abramovich may have made some silly decisions in his decade as owner, but he's very different to the Sheiks at City or the circus act at Real Madrid. They have the biggest pull in England, even ahead of Man Utd. Still have some way to be bigger than them though, but that may change now Ferguson has gone. Dark days ahead for Man Utd fans i'm afraid.

It isn't considered small in the EPL. True, but maybe will use him more when his loan ends? Leaving Cech on the bench like Iker? But if Courtois wants to come, it's possible and why not? Big club, glorious history, confirmed 1st team place..

Honestly, I don't see Courtois playing for Chelsea anytime soon. I don't necessarily see him moving to Barca of all places, but anyway, I don't think he's in a hurry to sign a contract extension. He'll run it down and then he'll have clubs lined up wanting to win him over.

Only Manchester United has won more than Chelsea in the past 10 years in the EPL.

Actually since 2003, I think Chelsea has won the most honours of all EPL clubs.
