Toni Kroos

I think that Catalan press says that we're not interested in Kroos because he is close to join Real and it would be a failure to lose the race against them.

If I'm Kroos why do I move from Bayern to Barca? At Bayern the competition for his places are Thiago and Schweinsteiger. At Barca: Rafinha, Rakitic, Iniesta. Unless it's for the big bucks. If I'm Barca why do I pay big bucks for someone who won't be a guaranteed starter? Silly rumour which only makes sense if he accepts a rotation role, moderate wages and costs € 25M max., around Thiago money. But then he could just as well stay at his childhood club.

Also I don't rate him that much. Technically good but doesn't really excell at anything. Gets praised for long shots - has 3 goals in 44 games. Doesn't take on players to create space. Lacks vision for the final ball. Like Cesc, he's slow to press and defensively not adept. And no, he doesn't do the intangible "controlling the game". If the coach who would play a team of 11 midfielders if he could doesn't fight to keep him at Bayern you stay away.

has 3 goals in 44 games.

More importantly, 3 goals in 102 shots, or 34 shots per goal, which makes Ronaldo look efficient. Agree with your post completely, he just seems to play simple passes and have a shot every once in a while, no idea why people rate him.

Does every second member on this forum have 'inside sources' within the club?

Looks like they're just reading the tweets of Rafael Hernandez, Lucas Resende and news from various media outlets and Di Marzio and then go on to call it 'their sources'.

Done deal, eh?

Bid on table, eh?

Seems strange for him to go to RM. Don't they already have Isco and Illaramendi sitting on the bench? Are they trying to make a whole bench of midfielders?

Barca is not going to buy any new mids according to the rumours. They are going to be bankrupt for Suarez transfer. If they want to any quality CB then we can't get even decent mid.

Makes no sense. A few days ago they reported that we made a formal offer and suddenly we're not interested anymore.

Because he is becoming out of reach & it's a bit embarrassing still to lose a target player to your rival

Not strange at all , the biggest mistake we would do is bank on recent La Decima win & pretend all was ok .. that's a mistake you (and we did before you ) did the last time you won the CL
Carlo takes credit for tinkering with the formation in the crucial stages & the last couple of top games to make it happen however you got to note the following
- Xabi is getting older & age is never kind , this is his last season
- Khedira is surplus to requirement if a good offer comes , he offers plenty of energy but little in the build up , attack or defense except hassling the opponent which he is brilliant at it but at that Real already got Modric who is 100 times more talented than him.. if a right offer comes Khedira is gone
- Casemiro , going on loan for a year for game time
- Illarramendi either will be sold or loaned out according to the latest reports... he was more a Sahin than a Xabi or Modric.. unless he prove himself & mature A LOT (seriously he is an asshole & was punished several times for childish matters )
- Not to mention Di Maria might be looking for a bigger pay , things weren't ok in the first half of the season with the fans & it seems he may want to try something different , his super agent Mendez will make sure it's the biggest paycheque .. and recent Di Maria declarations hinted at a possible departure (Worth clarifying none of Perez, Carlo or the fans want him to go , it's purely Angel decision )
.. So the matter of fact is Real is left with 4 midfielders.. Di Maria (possible) , Xabi , Modric & whoever comes next ... rest can all be sold or loaned
That's why we need the likes of Kroos , Vidal etc

Sorry but it is harder to get into a team which consists of thiago and schweinsteiger than it is with rakitic and rafinha. A LOT harder and he is better than rakitic and rafinha anyway?

Many valid points. Keep Xavi and give the youngsters a chance + we just bought Rakitic as Cesc replacement, but Rakitic seems to be suitable more for our midfield than Cesc was. Buy at least a CB, move Mach up to cover DM, try Busi on CM, get Rafinha and Sergio Roberto (still have serious doubts about his qualities) some minutes and spend the next season figuring out what type of player we will need and find 2-3 profiles who could take over from Xavi - than don't fu*k around, negotiate early and just buy one of the options best suited.

I doubt there was ever any contact between us and Kroos. If they can't sign Koke they'll end up with nothing.

Thankfully Lucho is likely to bring in youngsters into first team and do proper rotation. Roberto needs to stand tall and take the chance.
