How is that a nightmare? I think Rakitic is a better fit for us than Kroos ever would be.

It is not a nightmare but 1 more mid would be great if xavi leaves. Look at the bench rafinha and sergi is not good enough. We don't know if rakitic will fit usm it is just asking for trouble

.

Also I don't rate him that much. Technically good but doesn't really excell at anything. Gets praised for long shots - has 3 goals in 44 games. Doesn't take on players to create space. Lacks vision for the final ball. Like Cesc, he's slow to press and defensively not adept. And no, he doesn't do the intangible "controlling the game". If the coach who would play a team of 11 midfielders if he could doesn't fight to keep him at Bayern you stay away.

I never really understood why he is valued so much here and thought to be Xavi's true successor. People forget that Xavi was a brilliant CM with best vision and creating bunch of chances in each match. Kroos does have a very good passing rate, but just passing is not good enough. IMO, in the matches I've seen him play, he didn't even create that much impact regularly on his own. And he definitely didn't control the game. At best he's the Xavi from 2013 season only younger with more energy and more defending.

Explain please why is rakitic a better fit for us??
Better technically and knows the leauge very well.

I don't know why Kroos is so rated at this forum, he's never impressed me. I'd rather play Sergi Roberto than buy Kroos.

Kroos is good but honestly I would rather liked we kept Thiago.

BTW: have a feeling Rakitić well be a very pleasant suprise

More importantly, 3 goals in 102 shots, or 34 shots per goal, which makes Ronaldo look efficient. Agree with your post completely, he just seems to play simple passes and have a shot every once in a while, no idea why people rate him.

Pep has destroyed his long range shot. It'll probably come back as soon as he's with Real Madrid and is actually allowed to take good shots.

Him supplying Ronaldo and Di Maria from deep with long, accurate passes is a nightmare waiting to happen. Much better fit for Real Madrid than for Bayern.

Agreed. Thiago beats Kroos in pretty much every aspect, and acc, to some the former was not starter material for Barca. Bayern should be eternally grateful to our shitty board for handing them over our academy jewel for a cut price. Kroos can join RM for all I care. He's not an upgrade on anything they currently have. Never impressed me, and like you said, doesn't really excel at any particular skill.
I'd rather keep Xavi, who if managed well, can still offer a season or two at the top level. In the meantime, we monitor the evolution of Oli/Gund (the only ones who have the requisite skill to fill the xavi void), whilst also assess our existing resources, before deciding to bring in a MF mainstay.
