I take it that this is the transfer-thread for barca? Anyways, i heard time and time again that Barca have financial troubles, so that they cant buy player x or player y. Is this true? Why would Barca be struggling, with all that success, tv-deal in Spain, comercials etc?

I see, it just all seems rather suprising, seeing as Barca has consistently been rated as one of the top 3 clubs in terms of revenue/wealth etc for years. Real, United, Barca and Bayern have been dominating those lists for years now, right?

I agree.

I'm probably not the best person to explain the money issues but what I find alarming is that the new stadium costs are going to be huge, but I've not seen or read how they will be footed yet.

The board announce this yet doesn't explain how it will be funded ? I also don't see how we can afford any more "marquee" players due to the current wage bill.

With the lack of La Masia players coming through, plus lack of spending power doesn't bode well for the future imo.

Wage bell is the main reason .it is freakin huge specially with the bonus of every trophy we won
It is sort of the curse of being successful while having some ofthe best starting line up ever .
It cost us on the depth and in the market

We have Messi, Neymar, Suarez, Iniesta, Pique and Dani who are iconic players and known everywhere. We play in CL every year, we win trebles. We have the largest stadium in Europe... We're based in one of the most beautiful city and tourism are in the world.

Barcelona recently hired an agency to help them find a shirt deal similar to United Chevrolet (65m per annum). I think we will get something similar or even better in the next few months. Patient

Exactly. It's better to wait a few weeks longer and get the best possible deal then just jump on the first offer we get. The club know by now what Qatar is offering (I think there were rumours about 60M per year a few months back) but they are still researching the market to get a better deal from someone else or maybe make Qatar to improve their offer. It's a bidding war. Just because there are no rumours out there it doesn't mean our board is not working on finding the new sponsor.

No surprise here ,statically he is one of the best if not the best in Bundesliga .goal voted him in Bundesliga team of the year too and he is playing in Klopp former club (he stayed there for 18 consecutive years as a player & coach) so he surely had eye on him.

Pool fans trying to discuss the quality of Horn, Karius and Leno, when they have most likely not watched even 90 mins between them, is hilarious. When you probe them, they come across clueless. The EPL patrons act like they are an well-informed bunch, handing out "expert" opinions, when the reality is quite the opposite, and that's true to their fans and their pundits.

Looks like Klopp has landed to build his dynasty. A 7 years wait for me, then.

some of us in England do watch European football you know, for me none of them are a big upgrade on mignolet but German keepers seem to be very fashionable
