I take Hummels over Kompany. Kompany didn't have a very good season. Struggled with injuries too. €30M? City will definitely rate him higher than that.

I haven't seen too much of Kompany. How fast is he? Speed is probably something we'll need in the new CB. Only thing I know about Kompany's speed is that he's pretty fast in FIFA, which obviously isn't the best way to judge. I mean, Mascherano's rated higher than Kompany in that game
If he's fast, he could be perfect IMO. Really hope he hands in a transfer request or something

I'd take Kompany over Hummels tbh, since Hummels is similar to Pique, so I'm not sure how well Hummels/Pique would work.

He hasn't had the best season but neither have most of City's players. Last season he was the best defender in the Premier League. Hummels is too similar to Pique. That doesn't mean that they definitely wouldn't form a good partnership but somebody like Kompany who is aggressive and has a bit of pace would be a safer choice IMO.

Well, he is probably the best defender in the premier league when he's on form. The fact that he's been off-form and struggled with injuries this season could be a problem though...

Then again, City as a whole have been underperforming...

I like Kompany, don't get me wrong. I just like Hummels better. Kompany had some childish mistakes this season. That could has damaged his image as a solid defender for me, a bit.
