I'd much rather an experienced Spanish goalkeeper who actually speaks the language then some random German youngster.

It looks good when you said it like that, but when you look at those "experienced Spanish goalkeeper who actually speaks the language" and look at their quality (Reina ,Guaita ) and compare it to the quality of the "random German youngster" ,I would take the later
I just don't see Reina or Guaita as an options tbh ,they are just not that good ,De Gea (who isn't experienced btw ) is no longer an option with his current performance

People talk a lot about bringing 1-2 new CBs. I'm just wondering how they would fit in. I mean, we have Piqué, Puyol, Mascherano, Bartra and now Abidal is coming back. That is five players for two places. If we bring in 1-2 new CBs that would make it 6-7 people for two places. How does this make sense?

I think it's going to be problematic even if you bring in one CB. I think the odd man out could well be Mascherano. A new CB will partner Pique and back-up will be provided by Puyol and/or Abidal with Bartra, who due to their ages will probably be happy with this role. For Mascherano this could be difficult, especially in the season prior to the World Cup. I also don't see him in the DM role, I've been quite impressed with Song when he's played this role when Busquets has been rested.

At the moment the jury is still out on Bartra and no one knows how Abidal is going to recover so it seems sensible to go for a CB, we can't end of going through large parts of the season playing stand in and part time CB's, it's happening too oten for nothing to happen.

1 CB could be enough (though there's no doubt that we need at least one). With Pique, the new CB, Puyol, Masch, Bartra and maybe Abidal, that's 5-6 players for 2 positions. We should be good to go with that IMO. Then again, I wouldn't mind if we got 2 CBs, just in case.

I just feel that either we should trust Abidal or we shouldn't. Either he is in and will be able to play a part on our team or if he isnt capable of retaining his old level we should part ways with him.
Mascherano may not be a worldclass CB, but he is descent. He hasn't done it nearly so bad that he needs to be sold. Doing so would be very absurd. I think the trainers thinks the same way too.
Puyol is injured time and again. He has said he want to continue until he is 40. But we can't keep having a 1st choice CB who is injured all the time.
Jury is, as mentioned, still out on Bartra. Nobody really knows where he stands.

So the problem seems to me that we have only one first choice CB in Piqué and four secondary choices. One of which is injured all the time, one who isn't a natural CB, one who has been trough a levertransplant and one who nobody knows the potential of yet. What we need is another 1st choice CB. But I think that that player could just as easily be one of the four seconday options as one from outside the club. If Abidal reaches his old level, if Mascherano can gain more experience as CB, if Puyol can fight off injuries or if Bartra can step up.

We can just get 1 CB, 1 FW, 1 GK. and that's it. We can save for the winter transfer or next summer.

Pinto can play as first choice GK replacing Valdes and the new GK plays Cup games and slowly transistion to being our first GK just like what Villas-Boas dis to Lloris. His transistion was very good. Pinto can still play another season even as a La Liga GK. He proved it many times and he deserves it before retiring.

1 CB can be enough because we can use Bartra. But I would also be happy if we get 2. But knowing Rosell and Tito, they would probably get only 1 CB.

Puyol who gets injured in every month or two

Abidal who just came back from a liver transplant and nobody knows what's happening with him

Bartra who has 0 experience and who's still not really tested to show his true capability

plus Pique and Mascherano.

Yeah, I think we will be great with such a defense for next season.

Well let me put it like this Ter Stegen is a great goalie with huge prospects, while DeGea is an overrated clumsy joke.

De Gea has had a great second half to the season with United. He's one of the best goalkeepers in the world now. He's still young and is not without his flaws but he's progressing at a considerable rate.
