If that happens you better close your doors cause I am gonna come to Barcelona and bring hell upon the Barca board

just one simple question
Messi has a release clause, so if a team's pays this clause and negotiate a contract with messi, what can the board do?

it's Messi who will decide to leave, not Barca.

I think Psg is a terrible team for him when this 80% tax for the rich will still be law. I expect Ibrahimovic and others to leave France tbh

I am not surprised Madridistas came out of their cave celebrating. Their nightmare of nearly 8 years will turn into a party up their butt if Messi leaves.

I doubt Barca have the guts to let him go though. Messi is bigger than all the club's former superstars, and definitely younger than all of them when they left.

Maybe the possibility of selling Messi will put some fear in the socios and they'll initiate a NC vote. We should exploit this rumour to force the board out.

You know that things are pretty fucked up, when Di Maria defends Messi more than this shitty board. :icon_neutral:

Di Maria: "Leo is calm. The problem is that the media always take it out on Messi even when the whole team don’t play well."

imagine all those money we would get, we would finally build new Camp McDonald Nou Microsoft and we would become biggest money-force in football...who needs Messi and trophies, right?

Doubt it's true. I don't think the board would be dumb enough to try it.

If the board really do have plans to sell Messi, we could see a vote of no confidence this summer. Them wanting to sell Messi could actually be good for us, as long as they don't actually pull it off.

Let's be honest, Messi started slacking even when Pep was here. After this much time of carrying team on his shoulders it gets hard to be your own disciplinarian. And once the power shifts from manager to player all kind of other problems arise.
In short, the blame for current state of things lies on both the board AND players.

Pep's followers should remind themselves of his latest statements where he said he left because he couldn't motivate the players anymore. Do you need a translation?

Nah just the board and management who said have made the necessary changes back then (2/3 years ago) but didn't. Cycles end thats natural but the transition into a new one could have much smoother then it is now.

And this is for the Pep's(and Messi's) haters:

"Messi thinks[..] I'm not playing for you or for the fans. I'm playing to better myself each day. [..]you just have to give me the ingredients, create me favourable situations. I will handle the rest. [..] He is a purely intuitive player and because of that you have to give him freedom. There are other players that are asking for it, but they don't know how to 'resolve' this freedom. He does. He competes for 90 minutes, the rest does not interest him. And just like Cristiano Ronaldo, he is decisive."

And this is a translation from Balague's book, where Pep wrote a few words about Messi. And I could find 10 more quotes from Pep praising Messi(and not since he was at Barca, but after that).

Obviously Messi put a horses head in Di Marias bed when they were training together for Argentina. :horse:

Cant wait to take a dig at Pep can you? Still butthurt that he left?

"I cant motivate the players?" could easily mean that he wanted to sell some players like Cesc, Alves etc. as rumoured and wasnt allowed to. And what has transpired since he left with the idiotic board letting deadwood fester in our squad and not reinforcing with Puyol as the new signing every year, im inclined to believe those rumours. Look what he's doing at Bayern, reinforcing the squad to the point where he almost has 2 world class squads in one team.

Regarding Messi, yeah he may have allowed Messi leeway to get the best out of him, but you cant go around assuming that Pep would'nt have clamped down on him seeing his current (lack of) workrate.

Regarding power shifts from manager to player, yeah both board and players are at fault, but its the boards primary responsibility to prevent it from happening. In general players especially veterans like Xavi have big egos. It has always happened over time that sometimes the egos get too big for the club (Ronaldinho etc). and its the boards responsibility to back the manager which hasnt happened.
