Why are you contradicting yourself? If you know that Ramos makes plenty of mistakes,why are you commenting something like "Ramos in midfield...I mean what could possibly go wrong?" . It's safer to play him in DMF than in CB,this way a CB will stand behind him and can help correct Ramos' mistakes. And how are we going against our principles? We have 2 strikers today and not to mention that James and Isco are pretty offensive players.

mark my words, if real win, it will not be down to ronaldo, isco, chicharito, ancelotti or the team, it will be because the ref will do anything to help real madrid. it will be a very ugly, unfair and dirty win.. :DD i hope after this post real don't win fairly or else i'll get burned :DD but if atleti wins i will be glad.

But back to Boateng, I think that we can safely say that he is not some unique CB talent, there many out there just like him, some even better.

Boateng is considered an at least top 5 defender by almost anyone, so whatever you safely say doesnt have to apply to me or the majority of others. I agree that he might not be unique, but hes quality since 2 years or so. And yeah it does matter wether you play with Baresi or with Dante. A defense is always as good as its weakest link, and if Dante fucks up offside traps, looses 1on1s or is simply out of position, then Boateng will have to cover up for his mistakes and therefor the chance of errors by himself is also heavily increased. What you see on TV about defenses is just a fraction of whats actually going on, challenges, slide tackles etc, all the hyped defending stuff are nothing else but Plan Bs when Plan A failed. And Plan A is all about defensive organization.

Playing a centre back in midfield at home is pretty contradictory to the philosophy of Real Madrid.

Philosophy of Real Madrid is to win trophies. Playing 2 strikers and 2 guys that often play(ed) CAM/RW(James) and yet you say that. We usually play 4-4-3 with BBC + James as offensive players. Now we are playing 4-4-2 with Ronaldo and Chica + James and Isco as offensive players,so it's the same shit really.
