It's a pen but Roma are nowhere near good enough to knock Real Madrid out of the only trophy they have left. That much was clear even before the tie.

I simply don't have the time to watch a lot football else than Barca lately, and when I had some time and watched a couple of EPL games I deeply regretted wasting my time. I sometimes watch Juve in Serie A and last time I saw Roma was when we destroyed them - but omfg is that Salah guy a typical runner. And he's not even good at running since he can only run straight forward - no slalom, no sudden stops, not backwards - nope, his specialty is running forward in a straight line (with AND without the ball, I'll give him that at least).
Anyway, Roma did alright until the first RM goal - they had some chances, but unfortunately Dzeko showed why he's spending more time on the bench than on the field. El Shaarawy did alright. RM didn't really convince either, shaky in defence and no creativity in midfield.

Nothing unexpected so far.. PSG beat Chelsea and Real beat Roma.. Chelsea still have some chances though but Roma is finished.. Same goes for Gent who is also done.. Benfica is also probably through, doubt Zenit can make a surprise..

I think Salah was awful against Madrid. I've actually liked him last season in Fiorentina and he had some solid performances for Roma this season from what I've seen but in this match he did wrong everything he could.

Wasn't Zenit favourited for this matchup?

Please compare the opponents also which RM faced.....Much easier than other clubs....

18 of 21 RM goals came against Shakhtar/Malmo and Ronaldo scored 11 of 12 goals against them.

Either way, the CL group stages contain weak and strong opponents in all groups. Though I do understand how certain teams and players tend to only beat up on the weak teams. If you want to argue the strength of one group vs another in the context of a stat, sure, fair enough, but the performance in the knockout stages are what people tend to remember.

God damnit, I just noticed that Juve - Bayern also is on tonight. Meanwhile it's Dynamo Kiev - City and PSV - Atletico tomorrow. That blows...
