6 Ballons for Messi

but what if he wins 7??
when every team is off form, coach cant do much about that, barca has dead tired squad and they are still playing for 2 trophies

Whatever man, we will see in the coming years when lucho leaves if he will be a successful manager anywhere else or if he will end up like rijkaard.

Not about overrating them. They peaked later in the season and are now playing at a very high level. Beat Madrid 1-0, Barca 2-0 and Bayern 1-0 in the recent period.

As opposed to Barca which peaked too early and had that almost useless winning streak only to dip in form drastically in the most important part of the season bearly beating below average La Liga sides...

That's sick.

When talking about the CL defeat to RM, people tend to forget that for Simeone's men bar DV7, it was their first time they 'd made a deep run in the CL. To come close to winning at normal time, and conceding, must have been demoralizing and it showed as they soon fell apart. Experience gets overlooked on the big stage, but it's decisive in critical moments. They are better prepared this time around, and would be a lot more confident going in to the final (if they do)

The first half from Atletico was absolutely astonishing !!

Expect Cholo to rotate heavily this week end and do the same at the Allianz, press them like crazy, get a fluke goal or two, then it's game over, hello Milano.

I don't think they can afford to, given its a must win game, unlike Buyern who can/will rotate. And fatigue is what it will all come down to. I hope AM will have enough in their tank to last the 90 at the Allianz.

I know some culés are rooting for Buyern here. But does the likelihood of seeing them reach their 6th before Barca not repel them., I wonder.

im not saying that lucho is perfect coach for barca, but everything is good for now, we will judge him after one more season. Also, pep is called genius, but i dont remember any awesome bayern match in CL under pep, quite opposite, bayern were trashed by real and then by barcelona in semifinals, i would say that messi makes coaches better then they really are.

Watched the game with a Real Madrid fan from Tunisia. Both of us were rooting for the same team, haha.

Very happy with the result. The second leg will be a tall order for Atletico, Bayern is bound to score, whether Atletico can score or not will make or break it for them.

Pep has reached the semis each time and only lost to the eventual champion.
Meanwhile lucho lost to the quarters in only his second year with a better squad and messi.
Not to mention that dortmund atm has an all time record of points as the second team in bundesliga, meaning every other year they would be first and bayern second, ignorant fans make it sound easy that pep dominates the league but it's not.

lucho lost in quarters against a best team in the world at the moment, same team that beat bayern tonight, juventus almost knocked out bayern but due to bad refereeing and lucky draw vs benfica, bayern are in semis.

That logic has going out in the semi finals to Chelsea as better than going out in QF to Atletico.

How many times in Peps management career has he met one of the srongest teams in the QF?

Comparisons like the number of semi finals dont tell the whole story.

Meh, we will see if he turns out to be another rijkaard.

Yeah, seeing that suit monkey begging the camp Nou crowd to support the team, wouldn't that be a sight. Barca players elbowing, fouling and parking the bus after they open the score. Is it not strange that all the big teams on the continent have not approached him all this years? Even Chelsea, who would fit his style, don't want him

Salty much ?

Everybody wants to play like Barcelona

And 99,9 % of teams suck at it. Cholo has to work with the players he has and the playstyle fits his players and vice versa. Building the world's best defense while he's at it. He turned Pathetico into a european powerhouse that can take on any team out there. Deal with it.

Its difficult to judge any coach at barca, because, well, its barca. Its a team who wins trophies without a coach, barca simply doesnt abide by the same rules as the rest, the club defies logic. What is certain is that no barca coach has truly replicated their success at a different club, there is a reason for that.

To not credit the draw as a key part of success is ludicrous. It was clear there was a lot riding on the QF draw, not just for us, but Real and Bayern were in a very vulnerable place too. We got the worst draw possible.

That said, even had we gotten a better draw (almost anyone else), we were probably doomed in the semis even with one Liga game a week to rest up, and we'd of been in big trouble to stay top of that.

Although, not to knock Real, but had we got Wolfsburg and City in the semis, we'd of had a lot of time to rest up for the final. Arbitrary line of thinking and all that, but still.

We are the best team in Europe when we're on form. Period.

Cholo is the best coach in the world.

He turned Pathetico into the Athletico of today. I don't like his style but his tactical ability, his qualities as a motivator and his ability to create a water tight defence are second to none. Even Mourinho doesn't come close.

It would be interesting to see him at a big club with big egos and big stars. I don't think he would be very comfortable.

He relies on good solid players who listen to his instructions and run themselves into the ground.
