A short term agreement until the end of the season makes sense for all parties and he has to prove himself until then. Fair play to him, he can certainly talk the talk now let's see if he can walk the walk. From a United perspective I obviously hope he's a massive success and am sure all Unted fans will be follwing closely.

He'll certainly bring maximum enthusiasm and commitment to the role and am pretty sure that he won't be accused of not attempting to integrate as was the case with Moyes at Real Sociedad.

Gary Neville is one of the best pundits I've seen, especially ik how he analyzes players, but this still is a very strange decision to me.

I think he has a fair chance of succeeding though, but the language barrier might stand in the way.

One thing is for sure though and that is that Sky Sports just got worse.

I can't see this working if am honest, do either of them even speak Spanish ? Huge leap from being a pundit to a day to day manager of a big Spanish club imo.

We can all look at replays after the event and say so n so did this wrong etc etc, but being Head Coach takes more than hindsight and a fancy video screen.

We'll see.

As some already said ,there is huge difference between talking the talk and walking the walk .It is weird move to say at least
That said ,those kind of risk with young coach has been a trend in football for about a decade now .some worked gr8 others was failure .so let's wait & see

His first game in charge is against us :)
Actually he officially starts as manager on sunday, so his first match will be against Lyon. Not an easy start either considering that there is a qualification at stake, but certainly better than starting with humiliation against us. I think Phil Neville will be the coach vs Barca. Wise move from Los Che.

It will be interesting to see what Neville can do with Valencia. Now, i never liked United, but he is one of the better pundits i have seen. He seems quite intelligent and knowledgable, but talking about football and actual coaching is different, i wish him luck.
Valencia has been pretty much 3-5 for the last few years, a difficult team to face, but not quite a top team either. If he keeps them at roughly the same level, it would be a good job, but the next level for valencia is to become a team that can challenge for the title proper, or at least for a big part of the season. Not neccessarily win it, but to become a real threat like Atletico was/is.

Thats both sad and quite weird at the same time.

I don't think it is weird .it happened many times around the world on regular basis sadly
People take football on their nerves and with all its drama it isn't good thing for anyone who has a weak heart

Valencia were abysmal yesterday.

Can't believe how we allowed them to take one point from us.
