If Man City had won the semi-final vs. Real Madrid we would have a totally different conversation for BdO. That's how silly the dynamics of this award are.
It's a meaningless pointless waste of time. If it had any merit Messi would have won it every season between 2009 and 2022 or 2023 as he's the best performer generally and the biggest talent. Voters just vote on highlights packages and hype in the media. Football people are no less susceptible to this than anyone else - probably more as they can't watch as much football as fans as it's their job.

Pathetico for a reason. I expect an awful game with poor football from both sides, with these racist chants making the highlights of whole game. Two disgusting and finished clubs, I hope they both lose.

I hate games like that - games where you despise both teams and want neither to be successful in the game. You can't really win but you can't lose either - you know both teams can't lose unfortunately but at least they can't both win either.

It is weird though watching a game where you want neither to win. I tend to change my opinion mid-game based on who is playing better etc.

Do they really sing racist chants or just chants that Vini finds racist? Huge difference
Shiton of black players in La Liga have already gone through the same shit, doubt all of them are just making stuff up.

They would be doing the same shit to Lamine had he not won them Euros. So zero reasons to defend these bastards.

Vini's a bitch but not because he's black , just because he's a bitch.

I didn't ask that, I know they insult Vini because of his behavior and not his skin even if he can't comperhand that. I just wonder what kind of songs they sing. In modern time everything is racist for woke snowflakes.

And no, they wouldn't treat Yamal like that if he didn't win the Euros, we saw that last season before he won the Euros and with thousands of black players who played in La liga before. Spain is not racist, Vini is just an idiot who looks for trouble and he'll get it. There are some isolated incidents but nothing similar to Vini's situation.

Fair enough. I'm not down with the racist shit which is obviously out of order. But I can't help but admire how passionate their fans are. Definitely, one of the best sets of fans in Europe. And they can make the Wanda a cauldron of intimidation.

Any of Madrid's players try any of their normal shenanigans and their fans will make them know about it. I love that.

The quality of this fixture has been absolutely shite lately, but I look forward to it just for the hostility alone.

By far and away the worst thing about supporting Barca is that our ultras generally don't make it in to stadiums and opposition players and fans can, at times, get away with blue murder.

They are far from the best fans in Europe. Maybe in Western Europe but Balkan trumps them.

Would still love fans like that at Barca of course, Barca probably has the worst fans of top clubs.

Their fans are good but how does that reflect to their success? The most they can get in UCL is runners up and in Spain they pray for a trophy once in a decade if by any chance Madrid and Barca both have a bad season so they make use of it.

Fans at our games are lifeless and atmosphere is terrible. But I believe this will change with new Camp Nou. We won't need any ultras, racists and crazy fuckers on our stands. We've already got rid of them and have seen plenty of success since then. Take Madrid for example, atmosphere at their home games is what makes them almost unbeatable on Bernabeu - yet their fans are not that crazy.

Madrid has ultras, that's the difference between our and theirs atmosphere.

And what does the team's success have to do with the quality of the fans/atmosphere? Most of the clubs with the best fans don't even play in the CL or are one of the worst clubs in it.

Exactly my point. I mean, it does play a part in team's success but those racists Atletico has on their stands have not brought them anything good.

Madrid's ultras are not crazy ass, such as those we had for example.

Actually Ultras Sur were quite similar to Boixos Nois in the 90 and 00s, both very right wing with nazi elements. Then Laporta forbid them while Madrid let them get calmer and now have a much better atmosphere. Another win for Perez over Laporta.
