Vitor Roque (loaned to Real Betis)

I agree he wasn't treated the best but at the same time he is definitely not good enough. We should have sold him earlier. Now it's going to be very costly. I hope we can still seal that Brazil deal.

Sold him earlier?

No, what we should have done is leave him in Brazil until last summer and now trying to integrate him into the team (or if we couldn't register him then send him on loan). That's what any smart team with a long term plan would do. But we have basically none of that.

Anyway, I'm done here, couldn't care less about this finished club anymore.

Club will look to recuperate as much as investment and move on. If we are back to 1:1 and truly stay there then having a miss here and there as part of football. And won't be as painful.

The problem with Roque wasn't even signing him considering he was the top striker in Brazil at the time. It wasn't even paying 30m euros.

The problem was loading that payment with 30m worth of clauses on top for God knows what reason.

Portugal would be good for him. They won't take a deal from us unless they can 3x their money though (I'm talking the top clubs). They don't develop other teams players for them.

Now maybe if the club still see potential in them they could look to foster relationships with the clubs under that tier like Braga and Guimaraes. But even these teams are looking to make a buck these days.

Truth of the matter is he just isn't good enough for this level, he's like batigol a few years ago for inter.

A big club in Europe is just one step too far.

Nothing can or could be done to save this transfer.

Not even if stayed in Brazil for 2 more years
Not even he went to insert lower league here.

He simply lacks the talent to play for FC Barcelona.

Mistakes happens with transfers accept it and move on.

Palmeiras is determined to take the big market blow in the coming weeks and before the closure of the winter market, but for this first it is probing whether the operation is feasible. To do this, the Betis should give the OK on his departure by breaking the two-year cession he signed this summer with the blaugrana club. And that's where the problem is because the verdiblanco club doesn't see it clearly and, in addition, I would want some financial compensation that could derail the entire sale.

Palmeiras wants Yes or yes to Vitor Roque and, if they can't sign him now, they will try to carry out the operation at the opening of the market for clubs that play the Club World Cup and that would be from 2 to 10 June. They are willing to pay the Bara a figure close to the 25 million euros more variable so the blaugrana club would recover practically all the investment it made by the striker. In the Bara they do not see this situation with bad eyes but they must understand with the Betis. The verdiblanco club can prolong the transfer of the player or buy 80 percent of his rights for 25 million. Andalusians don't think about doing it but they think they should be compensated.

Betis want to be compensated for loaning a player out with a purchase option.

If things do not change I guess they do not purchase and he moves to Palmeiras in the Summer.

Hopefully going forward we don't do deals where we take full liability for the club who loans our player.

Is the young Brazilian we should have signed from Brazil, the few times I've seen him he looks like he has the X factor to make the leap to a big club in Europe

Betis want to be compensated for loaning a player out with a purchase option.

That's why including a buy option in the deal was stupid. Was a lose-lose situation from the beggining. Why can't we ever do "normal" loans?

Hope Betis will demand like 10m so we'll learn our lesson (probably won't anyway).

I would just like to see him getting a FAIR chance in preseason but LLLPorta won't allow that. Although I think he sucks as talent evaluator I refuse to believe Bumsi wouldn't want a player like Vitor in his team if he's serious about pressing (Probably not since he insists on playing tractor despite looking much better in games he's benched). He would be a big added value off the bench and I'm sure would score 10-15 goals in limited minutes playing alongside Raphi, Lamine and Pedri.

But yeah, better for him to leave this rotten club, get a year or two of development elsewhere and then make Fatporta and Bumsi look like idiots for next decade while we'll probably be stuck with another aging striker like Lame, lol.

You mean lad who will turn 24 in a month and has returned back to Brazil after not making it in Russia. Yeah, he would surely be the one.

Yea he's at least 2X better than roque.

7 goals in 15 games in Russia.

He's 5 years older, he should be better than Vitor. We'll see where they'll both be in 2-3 years though. Your boy probably still statpading in Brazil while Vitor will be a starter for a top European club.

Roque signing made a lot of sense on paper, if he was good enough, he would be the starter next season and Lewa on the bench or sold.

We would have spent 75-80m euros on the CF position and have it solved for at least 10 years between Lewa and Roque, that's about what most teams spend on one striker that is WC or close to it.

But the planned failed, since the start of the season it was clear Lewa will now stay one more year, because his potential replacement isn't good enough.

Now we have to try to recoup as much of our money as possible, squeeze one more year out of Lewa and get a striker in 2026.
