In recent light of Chygrynskiy's poor/average performances, his price-tag and unequal treatment (Ukrainian had more chances to prove himself than Caceres), I would say: yes.
Caceres has been treated unfairly.

IMO, yes, he had a very short amount of chances, and could of proved himself to be a good defender, his main downfall was his rashness, and IMO, that could of changed, we are a team with a calm mentality on the ball, he would of learnt this, and with his pace could of became very valuable.

Chygy is good, he's just making mistakes and is trying to adapt. Caceres is a bad player. I can't even believe he made it to Barca and then Juventus :amazed: His tackles are good and his speed is excellent but thats it, you could feel that he was nervous whenever he received the ball and as a Barca player controlling the ball and making good passes are a must because of the possession football we play. He'd probably be good for those teams who park the bus and just want to clear the ball.

Anyway I will vote that he's been treated unfairly because we bought him in first place it's not like we were forced to take him. Pep shouldve definitely gave him more chances especially on those games that we won from the first half.

caceres is a dumb defender whilst chyg isnt, so no. you just dont see such differences when you are buying a defender.

No. The guy was crap, and whether he proved that in training or on the pitch there was a reason Pep didnt play him or give him "enough chances". If he played bad that's his fault, he shoudlnt expect to play bad, nervous or not, and then just get played because the team are winning by a huge amount at the end of the first half. Chiggy is just as bad, except we didnt spend £25 fucking million on the crappy Uruguayan......25 million, jesus christ. 2 months in you can accept, the guy is taking some time to adapt. 4 months in, we payed 25 million, you should be playing a HELL of alot better than he is. But ultimately at the end of the day I dont think you can judge whether Caeceres (I cant spell his name, lol) was treated unfairly on the basis of how much Chiggy has played. They are both poor, havent proved themselves at all. So yeh Chiggy shoudlnt be playing but neither should Crapperes.

As a footballer you need minutes to get sharper and improve your confidence. Caceres never got that. You could see he had excellent tackling ability and ridiculous pace. That is a great foundation to work with, but we didn't go with. Maybe he isn't good enough for Barca, but when you don't give him opportunities and test him out then you won't know. Felt sorry for him tbh the way he just never played.

he was good at last ditch tackle which were due to his speed. he made a living out of last ditch tackles but he wasnt like puyol or anything. never relied on his positional sense to make a tackle and his in the box tackles were retarded.

there is a reason why he doesnt play as a cd at juventus when they desperately need pace there.

I honestly think if Caceres was given time, he would have made an excellent defender for Barca. How many first team chances did he get..not even much as Txygy is getting now.

I think it was down to the fact that Caceres was bought firstly buy Txiki, and not Pep, and that's why Pep didn't play him much. Pep wanted Dima a lot, and Pep must see something in him, and that's why he is getting the more playing time. And to be honest, Dima seems a lot better as well. More mature than Cáceres ever did. But hey, we still own Cáceres. He could come back and blow our minds with incredible play - but his performances for Juventus haven't been good either..

I said at the time you signed him that he was a wanna be Paolo Montero, and look at him now, by playing at Juve he shows just how far off that mantle he is.

I'm not one to sit here like some people on this forum and rule out every quite obviously bad decision because "I trust Pep's judgement" because I think thats a ridiculous thing to do. But there is a reason that Crapperes didnt play for us, and its not because Txiki bought him and Pep didnt like him, its because he was crap. If he played well in training I'm sure he would have got more games, but when you look at it, a) Was he really ever going to break into the first team with Puyol and Pique? b) Were we really going to risk him in huge games such as the Chelsea match? If Pep didnt think he was a good player then Pep has every right not to play him, its the managers judgement and although I dont think Chiggy should be playing, Pep's opinion is Pep's opinion. If your good enough your in, if your not your out. And he wasnt good enough, there its not unfair.

I voted no because treated unfairly or not it was down to the player can change his coach opinion and how much a player can grab a chance and improve.. when it was the CL final Pep opted for the slow Yaya as a CB than to trust Caceres even though you had zillion players missing in defense .
when you bought him i said he was clumsy and isn't Barca material cause i saw how crap he was when Madrid played Recreativo , he proved me right
17 Million thrown down the toilet his actual price wouldn't go past 6-7 million at best
