he was good at last ditch tackle which were due to his speed. he made a living out of last ditch tackles but he wasnt like puyol or anything. never relied on his positional sense to make a tackle and his in the box tackles were retarded.

there is a reason why he doesnt play as a cd at juventus when they desperately need pace there.

quoting myself... i am awesome.

so awesome you disappear when he has a good game and reappear to "prove" yourself right when he doesn't

he never had a "good" game. he has the poorest concentration of a defender that i have seen and completely retarded positioning sense.

why do you love defenders that are a second away from a titus bramble?

Except he had a good defensive game against Inter and you said fuck all. You can pretend that game never happen but it's transparent that you are in love with your own opinion. That doesn't mean his positional sense doesn't suck, because it clearly does, but it's obvious how you said nothing until he made another mistake only to congratulate yourself. In this case you are likely right about Caceres' long term prospects, he has a future as a good but mistake prone fullback in Serie A but the way you think you are an expert defensive scout because you play defense in your amateur team is hilarious.

And the fact remains that Puyol had awful positional sense until well in his mid 20's, though his football IQ was always higher than Caceres' is.

haha, does inter play with wingers? Nolan, fucking eh, your love blinds you from the obvious.

also about the inter game... didnt he "let" eto'o have a free header too? the difference between caceres and me is huge if you were to compare the two as I dont have the atheleticsm that he has.. thats basically it.

he is the poorest defender of all kind because he doesnt utilize what a defender needs most which is his brain. hence he did get pushed from his desired cb position at juve to a rb as grygera and zebina are just shit.

such a retarded thing to state, nolan. i will rip you to shreds in this debate.

 at your arrogance, especially since all you are doing is parroting Gio...The difference between Caceres and you is Caceres' athleticism is good enough for him to make a living off football while your great football sense allows you to be a great defender...in a Thunder Bay amateur league. When you compare yourself to Marquez and Caceres it's absolutely hilarious.

I already admitted I was wrong about Caceres, he has tons of talent but it's likely his horrible game IQ will always hold him back...he can however inprove on this but it would be a miracle if he ever is more than good.

I never said he was a flawless defender against Inter but Juve does not have a very good defense overall and things would have been different if he didn't bail them out in the 8th minute. He was called MOTM by a few sources. Does this mean he's suddenly a world class defender and not a penalty conceding machine? No, but it does mean that you said nothing until he had another shitty game, and are adding absolutely nothing to the topic besides self-congratulations.

We can talk when Chyga actually shows he knows how to defend, because apparently he and you are kindred spirits with your unprecedented game reading abilities.:lol:

I cant compare myself to Marquez cause he has talent that I cant simply dream of despite some of his Titus Bramble moments On the other hand, the difference between anyone and caceres is minimal. He simply doesnt get the concept of keeping attackers out of the box.

Caceres has been a poor defender in all games. He simply relies on his speed or others to bail him out. If you dont believe me, watch his youtube clips... they are all his horrible last ditch tackles. Nor he has the ability to pass accurately. Technique wise... geeze, he looks like a spaz when he has the ball on his feet, cant be a ball playing defender either.

Chyga can read games and that ability of his is why he is at Barcelona. He would prefer to make a horrendous tackle outside of the box rather than in and his passing abilities is a dream for defenders.

and Nolan, even though I might play for an amateur league in Tbay. I have won several championships in a row despite my really really shitty stamina.

and for fucks sake, I made a post about this 4 days ago. So, Caceres proved me right within 4 days and you are still telling me that my game reading ability is poor? Bahaha. So in 4 days- caceres has effectively given- eto'o a free header in his box and a penalty to seal Juve out of the Champions league... yah, that is a poor prediction.

The fact is that some people decided to leap on a bandwagon after one good performance against Inter. Now he's back to form and busy proving that Pep was right to get rid.

In my defense I have never joined the hyperbole, I defended him last year and still get shit from Gio and J, but after Caceres' horrorshow earlier on in the CL, as well as him almost singlehandedly saving Maradona's job in World Cup qualifying, I was the first to admit how his stupidity is making him a liability.

The truth is we could use more depth on the sides right now though, and :chyg: hasn't looked any better to me, but yes, it's very clear to see what Pep dislikes about him. He has however, earned a starting place for Juve, but part of the reason is that the other options on the right are awful. You don't write off a defender at 22, you need to expect growing pains and right now Martin can go either way.

Since you were quick to praise yourself after Caceres' mistake I'm glad to point out that you were actually wrong. You said that he is good at last ditch tackles. One made on Olic was a "last ditch tackle" and it looked really poor.

Last ditch tackles dependent on his speed are his bread and butter and I also did state that his in the box tackles are retarded. You completely missed the train there, Bojan.

No I didn't, you made 2 statements and choose to ride one and ignore the other.

yeh speed wise, he is awesome.

decision wise, he is the crappiest defender to be ever bought for 17 m.

hence he fucks up and then relies on his speed to bail him out however in the box, his rash tackling = penalty.
