Wayne Rooney

Rooney would become a global superstar if he went to La Liga. He's a complete player. The lone striker role is actually his worst position but he's getting better and better at it and starting to score lots of goals there. But he's way off the finished article there, but when he is it'l be a sight to behold. His best position is as a central deep lying forward and secondly on the left of a front 3.

Is that a small hint tat you want him at Barca? haha

not every player can score from such a wide position like Messi or even adapt... and using Henry as an example was really not a good one bc he has been pretty awful for Barça for most of his time here TBH.

As Moe said, Henry scored 26 goals last season....pretty much the opposite of awful. When I said 20 Moe, I was refering to just the league where I'm almost positive he scored 19/26. My explanation stands, Diegomessi. A "natural" winger is not going to replicate our scoring prowess of last season, thats b/c we dont need/deserve regular wingers. We need/want wingers who can play on the wing and SCORE GOALS.

Now don't get me wrong; Ribery and Silva are GREAT players but 1) Silva, much like Iniesta, is used most efficiently in the midfield 2) They aren't known for their pure goal-scoring ability. And as I stated, if Henry (a 31 year old and far, FAR from his best) can net 19 in the league, why can't Villa or a few other world-class "strikers" (dont feel like getting into who)? Are you saying Villa doesn't have the same sort of ability Henry has?! Lets not forget he's been in Spain almost his entire career and scores half his goals from the wing position anyway. I thought it'd be obvious; apparently you don't think so.

There's a LOT more to Henry's play than just the "scores goals from wing position" Don't know If Villa could offer all that if he was to play our LF, but I know Rooney would

lol, villa would offer much more than rooney based just on chemistry he already has with most of the team, plus he is a better scorer

Rooney would be a success wherever he plays,
Great touch
Pacey
Desire, Workrate, Fight
Good Finisher

Theres no denying that Rooney would be a huge hit at Barca

but he is going to stay at Man Utd his whole career, so it doesnt matter anyhoo..

Yeah he does have the chemistry thingy to support his move but I don't know how far he'd contribute to the defense as much as Henry did. Moreover the move for a David Villa at 29 years age for 50 million(possibly more) could never achieve as much success as the move for a Thierry 'KING' Henry at 30 costing 24 million did!!

He's 28. We bought a 34 years old Zlatan for 45M so why not get Villa?

true, you would take rooney for sure just on age and the price will be equal i think

Haha! So funny!!

I wonder how you think spending 50 million on an ageing player(yeah he's gonna be 29 by the time he's playing for us even if he's signed in the next summer) is reasonable, especially when one's not sure if the player can cut it on the left wing!! Moreover we have Pedro & Jeffren ready to step into the starting role. So signing Villa will could probably be a big waste of money & time.

* I'm not saying Villa can't be good for us, just it's not worth it to spend so much on him. I''m not even saying we need to buy Rooney, just thought he'd be very good for us. IMO the best solution for our left wing is to buy a 28/29 year old winger, who's in his prime and would give the youngsters Pedro, Jeffren & Bojan like 2-3 years time to develop into world class players. Like for example, Dominguez for Valencia! Or a Joe Cole could fit the bill!! Even Arteta would be fine by me, in fact that would be quite an addition:eusa_think:

Hussein Said know your role
People. Seriously. Villa normally drifts out to the wing playing for Valencia all the time. Plus, he's amazing at building up play, once again if you watch Valencia you would see him come deep lots of times, and last but not least he had the most assists for Valencia when Morientes was playing striker for them

villa would be an amazing signing. buy him whatever the cost. he is perfect for la liga football with his style, making him better than rooney would be.
