Lol, what is this shit with Gallardo?
I'll kill myself, lol.
You guys are making a same mistake with every single flavor of the Month La Masia kid (he needs to play ASAP!), any 20 years old winger from Europe (we need to do everything to buy him RIGHT AWAY!) and now again with flavor of the month hipster coaches (Sampaoli, Jardim, Sarri and now Gallardo).
Here are some shocking stats regarding European football, Barca and South American coaches:
He won Copa Libertadores twice and on his way to win it for the third time. A record only one manager has done it before, the one and only Carlos freakin Bianchi (4 times). Copa Libertadores (for an ignorant child like you) is the equivalent of the European Champion League. It's the most prestigious title to win in South America, more than Copa America that Messi and Co struggling to win for the past two decades. Diego Simeone never managed a European team before, he was hired by ATM in December 2011 and in 6 months' time won them Europa League, 2 years after he won them the league title (after 9 years trophyless seasons) and reached UCL final. You are a fucking ignorant, seeing your replies makes me rage and want to literally spank your ass. Koeman can't hold a candle to coaches like Gallardo. Now stop quoting me and go troll somewhere else.
George:
1. Gallardo won 2 CLs
But why wasn't he able to win league in 5 years at River?
Does he have problems with league competitions?
2. Further, football is different in South America.
Currently, except Simeone and Poch, all big coaches are from Europe.

All CL winning managers were from Europe who are more familiar with European culture, climate, football style, player's mentality.
The last non-European coach who won a CL was Herrera in 1964 and 1965 with Inter.
The only other winner EVER was Carniglia with Real in 1958 and 1959.
So, only 2 non-European managers won a CL/a former Champions cup in 64 years.

Did any of these winners had any relevant results in European football?
No.
Bianchi has won Libertadores 4 times, and when he came to Atletico in 2005/06, they finished 10th in La Liga 30 points behind Barcelona, with only 13 wins in 38 league matches.
Even though he won Libertadores in 2000, 2001 and 2003, so only 2 years prior to this episode.
From winning 3 Libertadores in 5 years to being totally lost and horrible in Europe.
In his first European attempt, he ended 5th with Roma, 15 points behind Juve.
Scolari was in Europe only for 1 year.
Ended the 3rd with Chelsea in 2009.
Also, from the last 26 winners of Copa Libertadores, 23 winning teams were from Brasil or Argentina.
South America is basically a two horse race.
So, regarding Gallardo:
1. zero league titles in 5 years
2. never coached big players
3. zero European experience
4. zero Barca connections
5. the last time when a non-European coach has won a CL was in 1965
6. and the 30-ish managers who won Copa Libertadores never had any succes in Europe
But hey, Messi and Pep like him, let's give him a 5 years deal...
Messi also liked Tata, EV, Suarez and any semi decent Argentinian player, btw.
