Gallardo aka Tata v.2 is coming boys

EIt-bc2WwAAzYxC

Argentines but, both, in terms of personality & courage on the pitch, they could not be more different

Would be surprising appointment simply because of the Tata experience and doing it midseason, the more prudent approach from a spineless Prez would be to bring in someone more familiar with club and/or league to finish the season. However, I would be very much on board with Gallardo and not simply because anything would be an improvement over continuing with Valverde.

Wouldnt mind Gallardo for the rest of the season, and after that evaluate if hes good enough (and if not go for Koeman). For psychological impact alone Valverde should be gone.

This.

This season is already good as gone under Valverde. Let's try Gallardo and see how he fares, this season can act as petri dish. Koeman can come later as he doesn't have many suitors anyways.

Lol, what is this shit with Gallardo?
I'll kill myself, lol.

You guys are making a same mistake with every single flavor of the Month La Masia kid (he needs to play ASAP!), any 20 years old winger from Europe (we need to do everything to buy him RIGHT AWAY!) and now again with flavor of the month hipster coaches (Sampaoli, Jardim, Sarri and now Gallardo).

Here are some shocking stats regarding European football, Barca and South American coaches:
He won Copa Libertadores twice and on his way to win it for the third time. A record only one manager has done it before, the one and only Carlos freakin Bianchi (4 times). Copa Libertadores (for an ignorant child like you) is the equivalent of the European Champion League. It's the most prestigious title to win in South America, more than Copa America that Messi and Co struggling to win for the past two decades. Diego Simeone never managed a European team before, he was hired by ATM in December 2011 and in 6 months' time won them Europa League, 2 years after he won them the league title (after 9 years trophyless seasons) and reached UCL final. You are a fucking ignorant, seeing your replies makes me rage and want to literally spank your ass. Koeman can't hold a candle to coaches like Gallardo. Now stop quoting me and go troll somewhere else.

George:
1. Gallardo won 2 CLs
But why wasn't he able to win league in 5 years at River?
Does he have problems with league competitions?
2. Further, football is different in South America.
Currently, except Simeone and Poch, all big coaches are from Europe.

Now, some shocking stats:

Realistically the CL winner comes from certain 6-8 teams.

Great points, new flavour of the month. People see River playing well and think it would translate easily to Barca/European football. Huge risk really and like you pointed out the history shows it more than likely would fail.

Those are valid points, but who gives a fuck? If Gallardo has an ounce of charisma hes overqualified for this job compared to Valverde. I would take anyone right now. Thats the bitter truth. Playing style cant get worse. And for half a year an experiment doesnt sound too bad.

Would you keep Valverde for the rest of the season? He corrupted Barcelona to the core, theres no passion. He truly bend Barcelona to his will.

Of course people jump towards Gallardo, because he got linked with us - its the last straw. Maybe he clicks with us, no way to tell rght now. Maybe he doesnt - then he will be gone in summer. We dont have an awful lot to lose.

I don't know how old are you, but younger guys are usually very optimistic and romantic about a majority of life outcomes.
As you age, you get more like me and some other pessimistic guys here.

I know where are you coming from, you and others probably think in this way:
EV sucks.
1. if Gallardo will click, we will be way better=win win
2. if he will be bad, either way he can't be worse than EV in terms of beautiful play and results

On the other hand, my fears are always:
Lol it can always be way, way, waaay worse, we are miles from the bottom.
So, in my eyes, it is something like:
20% chances that a rookie Gallardo will improve a team both: playing wise and results wise
30% chance that it will be roughly exactly the same as under EV
50% chances for horrible ending like finishing 4th in La Liga, a war between media, a coach and players, accusations, fights and anger between players, harsh words, new levels of low.

This is just my estimation.
I guess that you think that Gallardo has 50% chances to be better than EV.
I wouldn't give him even 20%.
Also, you probably think that chances to be way worse than EV are probably only 10%.
I would say: around 50% or even higher.

You see, the difference between us is how you estimate risks and probabilities.
The same as how for any La Masia prospect, you guys are usually VERY excited and you think that every Fati, Alena, Puig, Wague, Oriol has very high chances to make it.
While for me (and for stats), less than 10% of the best La Masia prospects will turn into squad level for Barca.
I don't want to go off topic, but if we would make a poll: how would you estimate Fati's chances to be a Barca's quality in the future, majority of people would vote for 80-90% range, isn't it?
Even for Puig, majority of people still have high hopes.
I don't want to be a dreamcrasher again, but their chances are way, way smaller, even for Fati.

You see, this is the difference between you and me and our estimations of a good outcome and bad (realistic) outcome.

That doesn't mean that you shouldn't be trying new things and have hope.
But learning something from the past and lowering the expectations would be nice also.

That is very subjective points, I mean who really qualifies as "realistic chance"?
Europeans were never afraid of bringing south american players, why they are hesitant with coaches?
I mean isn't CL is the current Holy Grail for Barca fans? I mean we heard for 2 years how we aren't gonna win CL with EV.
Only 4 times the CL won by non-EU coach, by 2 coaches:
Luis Carniglia, lead RM to their 3rd and 4th (1958 & 1959) titles of their 5 consecutive titles. They won it twice before him, once after him.
Helenio Herrera in 1964 & 1965 with Inter, he was born to Spanish Parents and left SA when he was 10 btw. Hardly qualifies as SA but still counted.
So last time it happened it was in 1965, 54 years ago. That is still very relevant tbh.
For a coach who failed to win a league since his 1st season, that is very alarming tbh. Especially when you consider our history with Tata.
If we want to win the league, he isn't the right guy. And if we want to win CL history says he isn't the right guy either. His football doesn't seem that entertaining too.

lol by Jove where do you get all that data???

impressive annual stats but makes sense there's only a few S-Am coaches winning the CL over the years. It's Europe

Like, even extending it to beyond S-Am, there hasn't even that many non-Euro coaches at the helm of the top contenders since CL inception. So that shouldn't cross out Gallardo off the bat.

If this dude's willing to come immediately, take the gamble.

Fans so irate even Random Dude Off the Bloke would be an Instant Savior hahaha

At worst, he could run operation clean-up, bench/sell out of date personnel but even more importantly, introduce conditioning + playbook drills in training so as to get in-game cohesion and efficient flow. Right now, pipes are so rusty, players keep bumping into each other by the hot-dog stand whilst Sem n Bouz crosses blaze passed the keeper unanswered

If no Koeman next year, what's your take on 10H? He plays the most beautiful football at the moment.

And whatever happened to that Bielsa dude? No one mentions him anymore

I think you are slightly optimistic: Valverde is rock bottom (coaching wise). He has no redeeming qualities. Thats where we disagree.

One more thing: you like to hit people with your "you are a romantic moron" sermon, just stop it. It gets boring.

Gallardo has an option to leave in December as I understand it, so the board might actually consider him for the rest of the season, if Barca continues to play like this until then.
It looks like a now or never thing though as if EV is still here after the new year, he will stay until the end.
