That's not how we play. We won't change either.

Hoofing the ball 1/10 times when we are under severe pressing from the opposition and a safe pass to a player is not possible is not a bad idea. Many people here want a plan b of plan a fails. Valdes has started doing this in case u didnt notice and hasnt conceded stupid goals in a while--a connection not difficult to make and would you say this has changed our style of play. Its hardly noticed

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois (20), on loan from Chelsea, is Barcelona's first option to replace Victor Valdes.

Good to hear they are going for someone who is quality and young. I don't see Chelsea letting him go but at least Barcelona are aiming in the right direction. Now if they could just steer it to ter Stegen.....

Id be happy with Courtois as long as he stops gifting CR7 free kick goals.

As long as its not Reina like some other papers are saying......

Really want Ter Stegen. But knowing Barcelona we'll probably put Mascherano in goal, play alex song as CB and buy a new midfielder.

If not Ter Stegen then I am indifferent if it is De Gea or Courtois.

ter Stegen is on every Barca fans wishlist. I doubt they'll show solid interest until their offers for De Gea or Courtois are rejected. Courtois is going to be really hard to acquire and even United will have to see how much they need De Gea. I hope they don't try to get Guaita though.

PEPE REINA?
Please god no!!!! Reina is a major downgrade from Valdes. I sincerely hope this is all back page BS!

Our 2 targets need to be Courtois or ter Stegen. A language can be learned and mastered and every player who goes abroad learns the local tongue. Reina isn't going to bring anything to the team except a person already fluent in the language.

Yes, I have noticed it. It's an incremental change to our game under Vilanova. Valdes does kick the ball up field albeit to our disadvantage. I think its done just to change things up and keep the opposition guessing, also we now have faith in our ability to win the ball back. It doesn't change the fact that starting the play from our goalkeeper is an important part of our game. Your making it out to look like passing for a goalkeeper at Barca is an easy thing to do, it's far from that.

"There are good keepers around, but we don't only want them to make saves. Passing is very important. Delicate position."

Tito said that himself.

Anyway, I think we need a goalkeeper that can play the ball well, and it's not as easy as you think.

There's so much to like about ter Stegen but the two biggest negatives for him, in the eyes of the club I imagine, are language and La Liga experience...Those factors alone are likely to push other keepers ahead of him for the club, I believe...ter Stegen is a stud as keepers go, a real leader and who wouldn't want a player of his caliber in their squad...He seems a real intimidating presence

Reina makes sense for all the obvious reasons but he'd only be a short term solution, IMHO...But perhaps short term is alright with Ondoa perhaps turning out or other keepers becoming available outside this window of need where clubs will look to fleece Barcelona in any transfer

I can't see Courtois being sold by Chelsea but who knows...I am not positive on De Gea despite all the clammoring for him, same for Guaita

Reina is on the top of my list, A solid consistent, experienced goal keeper, And most importantly, A la masia player returning to home, So dedication is something we can expect from him, It is the logical and the safe choice for a club like barcelona, Too much at stake to rely on 22 year gold keeper.

This. Lloris could also be a good option. Maybe De Gea, but I wouldn't go for him. All 4 would be better than Reina.
