If we have to get a 30 y/o then we should go for the Michel Vorm. Anyone who has seen Swansea the last 2 years has seen Vorm is the best keeper in the BPL. He'll come a lot cheaper than Reina too. After his crappy displays for Liverpool Reina is one Masia player I'm not sentimental about returning.

Swansea wouldn't want to sell

What about Tim Krul?
He had some brilliant games last season, I have no idea how he performs now though

Considering Newcastle's performance this season i doubt he is doing well . Although i can't be sure because i haven't watched Newcastle recently.

Newcastle are having a horrible season with injuries and aren't playing well. Most of their injuries have come to the backline too so they've conceded a lot of goals. Despite that Krul is solid. Good shot stopper, good with the ball at his feet and accurate passing. At 6'4 and only 24 y/o he'd be a good pickup.

1000x better than Reina for sure

We were strongly linked with Courtois recently as well. That's a step in the right direction, now we should just change that direction slightly and go for Ter Stegen. Either would be good, but Ter Stegen would be easier to get and slightly better imo.

I love the Ter Stegen possibility but the more I contemplate it, the less likely I see it coming to fruition...Too many unknowns/variables, I imagine, for the club to seriously consider him

There is a remote possibility of getting De Gea or Courtois, but hate him or love him, its going to be Reina. Ter Stegen won't join a Spanish club and we won't get him anyway.

Although i'd love to be proved wrong.
