Huh, would you look at that? Finally he gets an elite ball going forward and he scores. Shocker I know.

He did do a run and he did play more advanced there going for it instead of playing retreated and asking ball to feet.

This is more a Cristiano Ronaldo type of goal. Run on good service, then killer shot with the weaker foot.

He made those last second runs all the time against Croatia and Iceland. If anything, that was the kind of movements he was trying most. Di Maria and Mascherano constantly failed to see him or find him.

Finally some one who can create from midfield.. Now if Argentina goes on to win, the likes of Enzo Perez,Di Maria etc will never get dropped..

No he didnt.

He is playing in different areas tonight.

Messi and the team are playing better so far.

I didn't see it vs Croatia at all. He was mostly lethargic. Vs Iceland he was more active, but was too loose with his finishing. This game seems to be somewhat active with pinpoint accurate shooting. It helps that he's playing more wide and closer to the 16m box.

Guess Banega failed to do so for 40 minutes of the Iceland game too. Or was that Banega not getting enough ball to his feet. Anybody but Leo's fault it seems.
