It is near enough impossible for the linesman to instantly know from his angle if the player is obstructing the GK.

In reality he guesses or reacts to players but either way he plays next to no part in the goal being reviewed anyway.

True. Gakbo was offside like 5-10 meters. It was a joke.

Dont know if we're talking about the same call. Gakpo just now, not flagged despite 2-3 metres offside was near the touchline here, how does GK obstruction play into that?

When margins are fine it's perfectly understandable. Here the ref just let the play go on on an obvious offside, presumably because they're told to not flag in general.
