NEW - No longer just red stripes. United States redesigns its crest with rainbow colors ahead of World Cup in Qatar.

It's now a blue "USA" with LGBTQ+ color stripes below.

These poor South Asian workers are paid bonuses from their sheiks to promote a carnival like atmosphere, but actually looks fucking stupid. Even the single Brazilian in that crowd is titled "Brazilian fan from Brazil" which is top of the tops.

Anyway hardly any of these guys could afford to attend a WC game. The prices start from 70$ for a group stage game. That's like a month's salary you send back to your family in Bangladesh.

Another provocation on Qataris hard line conservatism, rather than any promotion of gay rights. Denmark are doing the same, under the label "human rights" record will wear plain shirts. England and Wales captains will wear ONE LOVE (again LGBTQ) armbands on their sleeves.

They've been doing this for years now in football and in other sports. Interestingly we didn't witness any of this stuff in Russia 4 years ago, now it's all gone crazy.

USA's new crest is quite nice.

Nothing wrong with countries promoting their own values, just don't shove them down others throats and all is good.

They earn more than season workers in Italy or Spain that's for sure.

Qataris pay around 10$ p/day to construction workers, minimum wage law in Qatar. 275$ a month. All this after protests from workers, who were paid as low as 0.5$ p/hour when the stadium constructions started.

Seasonal workers in Spain and Italy are paid 7€ p/hour, the minimum wage. Around 1000€ a month.

Of course we should take into consideration the country of origin of those workers both in Qatar and EU, living costs in their respective countries and such. They all send money back home.

So, overall, attending a full WC tournament to see Cristiano and Messi will cost a lot for those workers.
