I would like to try out a 4231 with FDJ and Nico as the double pivot with Pedri as the CAM.

Agreed there are options but will never happen as Xavi sees Busi as a lone DM the fundamental part of Barcas midfield.

Any failing by Busi will never be put on him but others not giving platform for Busis 'unique set of skills' to flourish.

Agree with this. Pique is at worst the 2nd best CB on this team. At LB, Dest hasn't been any good to replace Alba and Balde isn't close to being starting material. At RB, none of the options have been good.

And regarding CDM, there is no alternative DM on this team. Not an excuse for Xavi, but previous managers have not changed formation/tactics either to move on from Busquets.

Aye and all those managers took absolute scuddings for years in CL and last time Barca were relevant in CL they gave up midfield to protect best front three of all time for most part.

Hardly any great past to point to when those Barca coaches all met same fate.

Which is hardly relevant for Xavi (or our current board). At least wait until Summer/next season to blame them for Busi.

But there must be something we are missing when consecutive Barca managers refuse to even try a formation without Busquets. And the board hasn't bothered to get any alternative.

You are making no sense and havent read what was claimed.

It is relevant if claiming Xavi is correct and point to previous coaches playing Busi as back up to that.

Xavi loves Busi, plays him as core of midfield and rarely if ever rests him.

That is on him.

?To motivate yourself for a second place by knowing the history of Bar?a, I understand that it can cost, but you have to do it. If you want to be with the music of the Champions League, you have to live up to the intensity of the teams who are risking their lives''

He is deluded.

Same old quotes about intensity when has Busi as centre piece to the team and plays Alba, Pique and Alves regularly.

Yep. Starting to sound total BS.

The problems start from the top.

The front 3 is 100 yards apart. In a 433 it is impossible to play like this, the CF is isolated against the entire backline and with no AM the wingers can do nothing but pass back, an endless cycle as the wingers will never be able to combine with Auba. Teams are not at all bothered if we want to spam crosses to Auba who is 1v2 or 1v3. Rayo's defense today had numerical superiority at ALL times.
